"Easily walkable to Kyoto station on flat ground so not a problem even with luggage. Even it’s not close to tourist spot but it’s easy walking back to train station, and if you can master the bus there, it’s even easier as there’s bus stations nearby. The hotel is huge, and come with a onsen which is big enough and have 8 pools which is a plus when we are all too tired after long walking. We also paid for the buffet breakfast for one of the morning and the food was great too! Area for improvement / notice: (1) ventilation inside the room - the aircon was locked at a “warm room” mode and can’t be switched to cool room, which for people coming from outside Japan, it may be too warm and feeling a been lack of air flow (2) given the hotel is huge, going to the hot spring during peak hour isn’t recommended as we have occasion that we even can’t have a shower place (3) breakfast - be reminded get a ticket earlier. We have got ours at 7, but end up only able to get in at 8"

"It's a pity that a good location and good facilities were ruined by poor management, bad staff attitude and poor service, which made the whole hotel lose the quality that a five-star hotel should have. I stayed for several days and then changed hotels mainly because it was noisy and the staff were not professional! There are too many tourists in Kyoto, and five-star hotels have the mentality of doing business with tourists once and for all, which has ruined the reputation of service that the Japanese are most proud of!"
