We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Marina El Cid. The rooms were very clean and well maintained, even though they are on the older side. What truly made the experience outstanding was the staff — from housekeeping to the wait staff to the front desk, everyone went out of their way to make us feel welcome and special. The food was excellent with a great variety of restaurants and buffets to choose from, and even the room service exceeded our expectations. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and we would highly recommend Hotel Marina El Cid to anyone looking for great service, comfort, and quality food.

Poor security. Forget an item (like a hat restaurant at closing time) and staff will keep it instead of turning it into lost and found. Caught a service person using a pass key with the do not disturb sign on the door and their rules forbid their entry. Bar and restaurant soda dispensers not carbonated at several locations on several days. Food was hit and miss. Staff works hard and pools are clean. I won't be going back.

Had a wonderful time at the resort. Check in at the platinum lounge was a breeze, Noah and Luis our butlers made us feel right at home. Highly recommend booking platinum, as all your restaurant reservations will be booked for you. Rooms are clean and well stocked, staff are very friendly. Food at all restaurants is good. Pools are plentiful and if one is too crowded it’s easy to find a quiet pool, and there’s at least one bar at every one. Only problem is the beach, it’s nice enough for lounging but the ocean isn’t really swimmable, it’s very rocky. All in all a great stay and we would definitely come again.

This was our second vacation there in 2025, and once again, it did not disappoint. We traveled with our two teenage boys, who absolutely love the Marina pool—especially the rock feature and water slide. They also enjoyed pool volleyball and spending time with friends at the pool bar. The resort and rooms are consistently clean, the staff is friendly and welcoming, and—most importantly—the food is excellent for a family-friendly all-inclusive resort. The only drawback is the beach, which is only minimally swimmable. Overall, we had another great stay and will likely return next year.

Wonderful trip with my family of 4. Kids (11, 7) loved the pools and the slide. Very satisfied with the selections in the buffets and restaurants. Friendly and hardworking staff.

WE only were not satisfied with two thing, first,that the wi fi is not free for every guess and this is first time this happens to us at any hotel. this was awful. The second one, that the entertainment, is basically done with the North americans tourist in mind, disregarding tourist like us, Latino, that expect more latino music, and mexican melodies. for us in this aspect was like being in an US/canadian hotel.

It’s been our fourth year in a row here and we love it for the price! The kids club staff are amazing, the food is solid and the resort grounds are so well kept and beautiful…there might be better resorts out there but it’ll cost you much more and El CID has everything you need to have a great vacation.

Resort was ok. But how the front desk staff handled any issues was completely unacceptable. I watched them just smirk and smile at frustrated guests. Sure changed my Confidence at attending this resort..

Activities: There are numerous activities available for children, with events frequently held at the pool and beach area. Restaurants: The buffet restaurants offered a satisfactory selection, consistently providing fries, hamburgers, pizza, steak, veg & salads. For the reservation-required restaurants, it is essential to book as soon as you arrive. We dined at the Seafood, Italian, Japanese, and Mediterranean restaurants. All good. Room Service: The rooms were cleaned daily, and drinks were restocked regularly. Sleeping: If you prefer firm pillows, this resort provides them. I suggest bringing your own pillow if you are prone to neck pain. Every night, room service dishes were left in the hallway, attracting raccoons and coatis that rummaged through the discarded plates. The noise of dishes being smashed echoed throughout the night. The resort should consider implementing a more effective system for handling dirty dishes, such as providing a ledge or table for guests to leave their items. WIFI: The resort limits guests to a maximum of 2-wifi codes, which is inadequate for families with multiple devices that require internet access. The cell phone data signal is poor, often only providing 3G service, and occasionally LTE in the lobby. Additional codes are available for a fee of 308 pesos per day / 1233 pesos per week. Check-In: Expect to pay an additional surcharge of $143 USD for the week. Not expectable considering the amount you already pay. Overall: We would go back!
