"Great backyard with larger pool. The pool temperature was just right, cool but not cold. Kitchen was very well equipped. A/C units in bedrooms and living room were effective. Only downside was 2 full days without grid electricity. We were glad of the generator ( dispite noise) to keep frig cool and wifi working."

"There was no mention of full on construction taking place on both sides of the house. The workers were gawking and making comments in Spanish. We were so disappointed in our planned week stay. Ending up costing us more money to find something in short notice. Yes. I did get 100% refund; but we wanted a vaca. And our trip was stressful looking for another place."

"This is a beautiful home with attention paid to every detail. Comfortable beds cotton sheets quality cookware bright and open while still being private, I could go on and on. Very tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. It is also just a short walk to the lovely and almost empty beach and also very close to a local seafood restaurant if you dont feel like going in to town. Chelem and Chuburna are about 40 minutes walk in either direction or a short car or bus ride. Highly recommended!"

"Large house, 4 bedrooms-each with a private bathroom. One half bathroom in the main living room. The living room/dining room and kitchen were a large open gathering space that open to the patio and overlook the beach. Great for large gatherings and good space for large families. All bathrooms functioned with no problems. The kitchen was well stocked with almost everything. There is a full size washer/dryer on site which is very convenient since we utilized the pool/local beaches and cenotes frequently. The pool is larger than most private ones and in good condition. We only encountered a couple difficulties. There was a strong odor from the sewer in one of the bedrooms, this unfortunately, is common in Mexico and not something that the owner is able to fix. He was very nice and had a lady come clean the bedroom and bathroom to try and reduce the smell, which was generous of him. Like most private Mexico rentals, the whole place could use a thorough cleaning, but we bought cleaning supplies at the local store. Also the main contact person, Miguel is Spanish speaking only. This was not difficult for us since my daughter and son in law speak Spanish, but for others it may prove to be difficult. Both Omar and Miguel were slow to respond to messages. When we first arrived, it was a little difficult to get ahold of Omar to get the address of the property and Miguels info. The property is managed by Miguel who met us there to provide keys. Overall, good stay."

"Host was very welcoming, house is very nice, but there were many things that are listed there that were not there No washing machine or dryer and no grill Then there was no hot water most of the time and despite promises to fix it was not done, But overall everything was nice and location on the beach was perfect"

"We enjoyed a quiet stay. It is a big house with a small but deep, nice and refreshing pool in a sleepy village. The beach is out your patio door and the upstairs deck is large and has lots of seating and sunning options. It is drivable to cool ruins and awesome cenotes. "

"Our trip could not have been better due to the beautiful house and the nicest owners. The home is perfectly located in a quiet area, yet so close to everything you could need. Walking out of your door onto the sand every morning, seeing the turquoise water, is like living in a dream. We spent so many days just lying on the beach, or under the shaded area on lounge chairs, and wading into the water whenever we needed to cool off. Having the pool was also great, since we could just stare out at the ocean while relaxing in the water. The beach was never crowded. Some days we saw 15-20 people TOTAL, some days we saw NONE! It felt really private and so relaxing. Not overrun at all. I cannot say enough nice things about the owners, Lizette and Gino. They are so kind, very responsive about recommendations, and they truly want to help you have an amazing trip. They love the area, and they love sharing it. The nearby restaurants were great, everything from casual breakfast places, to very high end cuisine, and everything in between. We could easily buy fresh fruit, basic groceries, or stop by the 24-hour pharmacy for any needs. The area is very convenient for everything. We ventured to Progresso for meals a few times, which was very fun, and then we were happy to be back in our sweet quiet spot in Chilem. Can't recommend this home enough! We can't wait to go back. "
