「Room was clean and tidy with character. The heating wasn’t working but they left a portable heater which helped」

「Nice hotel - excellent food」

「I really liked this hotel, it was our second visit but, they completely messed up our dinner. We pre ordered the roast pork but, unfortunately they ran out! We ended up with ham, egg and chips which was laughable, the ham looked like thinly sliced spam, the egg was overcooked and we had a few oven chips! It was so bad we got up and walked out, which i have never done before and I’m 67! I have emailed the hotel but, no reply! We won’t be going back!」

「Excellant cosy olde world pub. Good food for dinnrr and breakfast. Just outside Exeter so ideal stop over. Can recommend to other visitors. Quiet situation comfy bed clean room」

「We stayed for one night only and the reception was friendly. We bought a plug-in air freshener as the room smelt funky. The single bed was uncomfortable. Very noisy at night due to karaoke - but this was the summer in Paignton so I guess it’s normal. Hotel is near the main strip so very convenient. 」

「Overall we had a good experience staying at this hotel. The price was bit expensive for a one night stay. The water flow from the wash basin as the shower was splashing. Other than this everything else was very good. Thank you.」

「I was staying with my 88 year old Mum. We were awoken at 3am by banging and chatting from the room next door. It continued until we left at 7.30am. The room was apparently a room bring renovated with no door lock, just holes where it should be and Yellow No Entry tape. I was told the occupants needed emergency accommodation for the night. I drove 4 hours home on 3 hours sleep. I would not recommend this hotel if you would prefer to sleep through the night!」

「Friendly helpful staff. Spacious room. Just one criticism in the bathroom. It would be helpful to have a grab rail in the bath/shower for senior guests comfort and safety.」

「Staff efficient but robotic and lacked empathy. Bedroom tired and the lighting was inadequate when applying make-up. Dim lights might be romantic but a dressing table with a proper lamp so you can see what you look like is essential! Hot water in bathroom basin very slow in coming through and the toilet seat is misaligned 」
