Great location!! Nice room!

We love staying at Sterling Shores! This is our 3rd visit - different rooms each time. Their location cannot be beat!! Easy beach access - beautiful swimming pool - this is our go to in Destin!!

Just like described and as showed in the pictures. Great location, so many things all near by and the pool was wonderful to. There is construction going on and yes, it is a bit noisy, so if youre looking for peace and quiet, this may not be the time to stay here specifically. Considering places like this need to undergo touch ups for maintenance and what not, we were able to look past that and still enjoy our stay. There is plenty to do that got us out and away from a majority of the noise during the day. The beach is wonderful and the location was great. Cant say i have any major complaints!

Excellent view & amenities

The view and amenities of this unit were fantastic! The bedrooms were very small and made it difficult to move around the beds and such. Condo could definitely use some updates aesthetically as well. Pictures make the unit appear much larger than it is.

Lovely view, but unit needs some attention

Looks great at first but upon further inspection this unit needs a deep cleaning, paint job, new fixtures and some more comfortable furniture in the living room and primary bedroom.

Do not recommend this property.

Will not stay at this property again. Outdated broken furniture. Doesn’t provide basic needs like salt and pepper. No beach towels. Holes in walls. Not enough sheets. Bed were awful and uncomfortable.

Condo was great. But, there are a few things that needs to be looked at…. Toaster does not work well at all. TV in guest room will not change channels (using remote or buttons on side of TV) and the channel that it defaults to is not kid appropriate. Pot holders would be nice to have in the unit. None of these would stop us from staying here again; just things that could be done to make it a little more like home.

Unit was Great, Sterling Shores is Under Construction!

I would not recommend renting at Sterling Shores until after Feb 2026 as it is under construction and very loud all day every day! Ok , the good - the unit we rented was very clean, everything was in order when we got there, very clear details provided for check in/check out, fantastic view of the pool and gulf from our balcony. No complaints at all about the room itself. The pool itself was also nice, not overcrowded at all, but not sure if that’s due to the time of year, the construction going on, or if it’s always like that. As for the entire experience and property, it was tainted by the construction. I booked on May 17 with no mention of construction. On June 10 I received an email to let us know that Sterling Shores is under construction expected to be finished on 1/8/2026, and no bookings will be compensated after June 10. Ok, so what am I supposed to do? Our checkin date was a week away. The email states “We have blocked down the units that are primarily affected by this construction.” Ok, so I guess that means we probably won’t really notice. Wrong. If you’re there during the day, there are power tools/angle grinders going all day long, removing paint from the front of the building, and directly outside our room. Several times going in and out of my room someone was in our entryway either grinding, taping, or painting. They were very polite, but when you pay this kind of money for a RELAXING vacation, this is not what I’d expect. Once they finish the construction, this property will probably be great. But until Feb 2026, spend your money elsewhere.

Disappointed

We were highly disappointed with the rental. We have rented through Sterling Shores for 8+ years and this was the biggest let down to date. We had a maintenance issue that took 3+ days to resolve and each time we checked in on it (twice daily) the customer service rep either wasn't aware of the situation at all or told us a completely different story than the prior person that we spoke with. We ended up speaking with a manager after days of frustration and they did rectify the situation. It was just a major aggravation to have to deal with on a vacation.

First time visitor

This place has a great view of the ocean and has a very secure and clean campus. The kitchen was well equipped with commonly used items. The condo complex also offers 2 pools and provides beach chairs/umbrellas set up daily for Sterling Shores use only. The unit was quiet as well.

Sterling Shores

Everything was great! The location was perfect, everything was clean, neat and working properly. The only thing I would suggest is updating the patio furniture. I would stay here again in the future.

Destin Vacation

When I arrived at the condo I originally reserved, it was horrible. Sofa bed was broken and the master bed's headboard was leaning forward. I had 5 adults including a 7 month old baby and a 1 year old toddler. I was very upset. I called Vacasa and they came through for my family. They relocated us to the Sterling Properties, a very nice property not far away. After arriving to Sterling Shores, my vacation spiraled up!!! We all enjoyed ourselves and I will use Sterling Shores/Vacasa again. Thank you for coming through for my family. Louisiana Family Vacasa

Home needs updating, TLC

My family stayed in this home (715) two years ago and enjoyed it, so staying here again was an easy choice. The home's best feature is the higher balcony looking out with views to the ocean and over the fun pool and landscaping. There's plenty of dishes and utensils for us to cook dinner in many of the nights we stayed in and we like that it has bunk beds in the second bedroom for our kids. AC and hot water for showering was always good. Unfortunately, with this stay, nothing had been updated or improved since our stay two years ago. The home, including furniture, cabinets, counters, showers, and beds showed a lot of wear and tear. The beds were wobbly, cabinet doors loose, couches worn, the dryer made a loud noise as it ran, the oven burners were falling out - all examples of things that with some simple maintenance or replacement after being used over and over again would really go a long ways. It was mostly clean, but deep in the cabinets and the corners needed more attention. We had three issues that we reported to Vacasa, and they did a great job at responding to and following up on, and those items were resolved within a day of reporting them, which was good. Overall, we'll probably look at a different unit next time we stay at Sterling Shores, unless the photos online are updated and we see some of the older items have been replaced.

Great Stay

Beautiful View

This is a great condo but security needs to do a better job. There was a large group of men blasting inappropriate music at the pool. They were intoxicated. They were drinking and smoking inside the pool. The profanities were unnecessary. We were unable to take our kids to the pool that day. Security was no where to be seen. It was more like a Las Vegas pool area. There were towels hanging all over several balcony rails. Very disappointing. We have been coming to Sterling Shores for 12 years. I think we will try some place new next year.
