Rooms are nice and well equipped. However, they could use some attention re cleanliness: lots of dust on the baseboards and door trim that was so thick it had to be noted; and soap dispenser was broken off the wall and not repaired. Liked the Nespresso machine and available teas in the room, comfy bed, and wonderful bathtub that was extra long. The breakfast had decent selection. However, the haggis (while good in flavor) and baked sunny eggs stuck to the teeth and throat and deemed inedible. Dinner was only available in the bar with a limited menu, but was good as were the drinks. Staff were super friendly and the location was quiet and delightful with a beautiful view.

We had a really pleasant stay at voco Edinburgh Royal Terrace. The rooms were clean and comfortable, which made it easy to relax after a day out in the city. The staff were consistently friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall positive experience. Breakfast was very good, with a nice selection to start the day. A special mention goes to Edward from the restaurant team, who was especially friendly and attentive. Overall, we had a great stay and would happily recommend this hotel to others visiting Edinburgh.

The upper floor hotel rooms are amazing. The basement rooms aren’t that great. Travellers should be aware that the hotel is on a hill and it requires walking up and down every time you leave the hotel which can be pretty exhausting by the end of a three day trip.

We had a short, one night stay here and wished we could have stayed longer. Beautiful lobby and big and clean guest rooms. Loved that they actually had a real coffee maker in the room, along with complimentary sweets. Check in was easy and we were able to have them hold our luggage (no cost) as we had to turn in our rental car. Staff was friendly and we were provided special treats at check in. We paid for the buffet breakfast, which was very good and offered a nice array of food options. We felt as though we were in a very safe area and we were able to get to Princes St and the Royal Mile quite easily.

The bathroom in our room had seen better days, the caulking needs a refresh for sure as did the bathtub. Also do not expect a strong shower. The shower head and the water pressure was mediocre. For us the bed itself was a bit small, it definitely is the smallest size acceptable as a double bed and for is it was just small. Especially my husband being a taller man found it small. The linnens were always changed and clean (sheets and towels) though so that is a plus. Also we were provided with cans of still water which was a very nice and appreciated touch. Reception was excellent very capable staff and always very friendly. On our last day we asked to leave our luggage there so we could explore the city without the hassle of trolley’s and everything was handeld very well. All in all a good solid stay for a citytrip in Edinburgh. It is a good walk away from everything but the plus side is it is nice and quiet during the night and early mornings. For us it would loose a star because of the bathroom situation and the very small bed.

Overall a lovely stay. The staff is very helpful and the location is wonderful (can walk to the middle of town in one direction and Arthur's seat in the other). One point which was odd - the underside of the rubber mat for the bathtub had quite a bit of dark mold. I turned it in at the desk and it was replaced by one that had quite a bit of long black hair on the underside (they are in little zippered covers). I finally got a clean one, but yuck. Other than that - lovely stay, room otherwise clean - they just need to inspect all of those mats. The restaurant and room service were both quite good and it was a nice quiet and restful place.

Lovely picturesque street of Edinburgh. Lovely view looking out at the wider city and sea. A classic room and overall vibe with a modern reception bar interior. Quiet and calm throughout! Well kept rooms, the only thing that was bad is that it had no fridge. The staff were incredible. Kitty on reception was absolutely lovely and was so talkative and attentive to any issues or queries we had. She definitely needs a raise!! Overall a great time and I’d definitely book here again for Edinburgh S&C
