“Loved being so close to the beach!”

“Unique little inn in the Scottish countryside. There is a bar downstairs which closes at 10:30. Friendly staff and although small the room was very clean and inviting. Would be happy to stay again!”

“The location of the property is glorious, spectacular views and if you do not wish to eat in the restaurant there are several others about a one mile walk away in Balloch or a short drive. Although our room was small, it was well decorated and had everything we needed. The only downside was having a room which overlooked the roadside. It was extremely noisy with guests and staff leaving/entering the building at all times of the night/early morning and the noise from the A82 from early hours was……

“As we visited in the month of May , it was cold and we had to beg to have the heat turned on. Once it was,it was comfortable. I do not think that the rooms have seen any updating since the 1970’s…the room furniture was not in good shape. The hotel is well situated overlooking Loch Lomond and easy to get anywhere. This breakfast was great!”

“My wife and I had a decent stay at the Royal Marine, though it was a bit of a mixed bag. The building looks magnificent, and although a little tired, has fantastic potential with some TLC. Our room was spotless, and we enjoyed paying extra for the sea view; watching the ferry terminal activity was actually quite relaxing. However, the hotel is feeling a little run-down and in need of some modernising. We also found the breakfast disappointing, which let the experience down. Whilst we enjoyed……

“Sauberes Zimmer, Super Frühstück, Gastgeber super freundlich und hilfsbereit. Hilfe gab es auch bei der Restaurantreservierung. Im Zimmer selbst gibt es eine große Tee und Kaffeebar, sowie 2 Sessel in denen man sehe gemütlich sitzt. Aussicht ist toll und sehr ruhig gelegen. Kann jedem nur empfehlen hier her zu kommen. Die Gastgeber haben die Einrichtung sehr gut durchdacht und es ist alles da was man braucht. Das beste B&B auf unserer Schottlandrundreise. Besser als jede Hotelkette.”

“I just wanted a simple hotel to come back to after driving all day. No remote for tv, forgot to ask in the morning before leaving for my day trip. Got in late, managed to get Tv on and on a channel, but next night there was a Samsung update message that required the remote. then went for a shower…nearly got severe burns from the tankless water heater as it doesn’t seem to work properly (hot is cold, and apparently cold is hot and extremely dangerously hot. Nowhere to escape to as the shower is……
