5 stars, no question. Almare Resort in Isla Mujeres really did what needed to be done. From the moment we pulled up, the whole vibe was calm, clean, and straight luxury without feeling stiff. Joseph at the bar? Top tier. My guy remembered drinks, kept the energy right, and made sure we were always good without us even asking. That kind of service don’t go unnoticed. Beach staff stayed on it too—super attentive, always making sure chairs were set, drinks were flowing, and you didn’t have to lift a finger. Just show up and relax, that’s it. Now let’s talk about the food… whew. Every meal hit. You can tell the chef takes real pride in what’s coming out that kitchen—flavor on point, presentation clean, and variety that keeps it interesting. And room service? Quick, fresh, and actually worth ordering, which is rare. Overall, Almare didn’t miss. If you’re looking for a spot where the service matches the scenery, this is it. I’d run this trip back without hesitation.

Almare was wonderful! We’ve been to Isla multiple times and this was by far our favorite stay! We booked our trip last minute, but nothing was missed here! From the check-in, the service, amazing food, beautiful room, pool and the private beach, and the private water taxi to the airport! Everything was better than we could’ve imagined. I would recommend Almare to anyone looking for a relaxing, secluded and beautiful stay on isla!

Wonderful resort, good food a few items not to my liking but overall very good “fantastic pizza at SeaSalt” extremely friendly staff with shout outs to Lizbeth, Liza at reception, Ivan life guard” great guy”, Claudia and Karen on the beach, Juan, Javier and Alajendro at Boca, Omar and Pablo at SeaSalt, Andrea and Floberto at the pool cafe and Diego the Manager. The hotel was incredible we will certainly be planning a return trip in the future. The food was absolutely incredible, particularly breakfast and lunch. The breakfast buffet is luxurious with the perfect blend of classic breakfast items, a beautiful fruit platter and classic Mexican dishes. Lunch you can order to your sun lounger or go to the restaurants. The poke bowl, pork tostones, chicken burrito and prawn tacos where some of our regulars and were always delicious. The staff were attentive and would always go the extra mile. Karen and Karim were both standouts for us and they really made you feel special weather it was there attentive nature or just their genuine interest in conversation. The drinks are also great, The mango margaritas were particularly exceptional. We honestly had the best time. The rooms are beautiful and bed was super comfy. My one very small criticism is there is nowhere to hang bath robes or clothes you want to steam (there's a steamer in the room) we ended up hanging clothes precariously on light fixtures but that was a very very small problem with an otherwise perfect room. And any issues you have the front desk are always willing to help and fix them for you quickly. We had problems with plugs in the bath and sink and were both fixed within a few hours. I'd suggest some small hooks in the room that would really help the functionality of the space. Ultimately you will not regret coming here it is a peaceful paradise.

The property was beautiful and relaxing. The private ferry and welcome were excellent! Limited food selection, but good food. Definitely would be nice as a 2-3 night romantic getaway if you are already in Cancun.

We got an ocean view room but could barely see the ocean so not great. The food was good at the restaurants but they all closed pretty early. We were really disappointed with the rooftop pool, bar and restaurant because they didn’t open until 6:00 in the evening! It was an infinity pool with a beautiful view of the ocean but who wants to spend the day up there if the restaurant and bar aren’t open? This hotel barely got 4 stars from me.

While the property had great possibility, sadly the entire stay felt disjointed due to the way things are run. Example- rooftop pool that has no food/bar available…even though there is a restaurant on the rooftop. The hotel advertised that the rooftop bar was open at 3pm, yet we never saw any staff there until the restaurant prepped to open. The staff seemed undertrained and consistently put into circumstances where they were unsure of how to fulfill a request. Again, while the property was nice, I would not recommend returning until management irons out quite a few wrinkles.

Pros: The staff were very friendly. The rooms and grounds were clean. Cons: Food was average at best, but not much of a variety. We did not have reservations one night, so we decided to try to walk in one of the restaurants. We were told we would have an hour and half wait, but there was only 8 people in the restaurant. The pool bar closes at 5;30, and the pool closes at 8. I saw no activities the 5 days we were there. Overall the experience was decent, but not great. I definitely don’t feel it was worth the money we spent.

Room: The ocean was visible but partially obstructed. The shower door would not close properly and stayed open about five inches; we reported it but it was not fixed. The tub would not hold water initially, though they did repair that. Food: Very hit or miss. The kitchen seems to add unnecessary twists to simple dishes; staples like pizza should be left alone. Many items had a strange “what is that?” flavor while others were bland. The menus are limited, and the restaurants strictly enforced reservations even with only a few tables occupied. With about eight people in the restaurant we were told there was a 45-minute wait. Since there were no grab-and-go options, we ended up taking a cab for better food. Drinks: None stood out, and standard cocktails like the Moscow Mule and piña colada were poorly balanced—either too much juice or too weak overall. The hurricane was especially disappointing. Hotel: The property itself is in good shape with nice common areas, and the staff is friendly. However, you will usually need to retrieve your own drinks as staff rarely check on guests in common areas. The hotel also shuts down early: the pool bar closes at 5 p.m., the main pool at 8 p.m., and the smaller upstairs pool stays open slightly later but has no swim-up bar. You will be in and out retrieving drinks. Overall: for the money we paid, there are much better resorts we have experienced. Isla Mujures is great but we will look to stay elsewhere next time.

Took a while for our room to be ready. We didn't get our room till almost two hours after check out and only after complaining. We noticed others having the same issue. We were not given a tour or an explanation of amenities. The hotel was very clean and beautiful. Staff was good beside a couple lack luster interactions. Food was great but after dinner you were left still hungry due to minimal portions and lack of sides with certain dinner options. Overall my stay was good. Would come back again in the future knowing now what to expect. Both my wife and I did get sick during and after our stay.

The resort is beautiful! The lobby, beach, pool, restaurants, etc….were all amazing aesthetically! The food is by far the highlight at Almare. All meals are 5 star, fine dining quality, even the room service meals were a step above most. Very relaxing stay but needs more activities, there were no activities going on during my week long stay other then beach yoga. The resort pretty much shuts down at 10pm, no bars or anything to chill at. The only place to find any type of action is to take a taxi into town. We rented golf carts and enjoyed the beautiful island a couple days but other then that there wasn’t much to do. Overall good place just to relax and eat but nothing else…

We loved our stay here - it was so relaxing and the perfect place for couples to enjoy. The resort was beautiful and everything was very clean - we loved our room. Only thing is we were supposed to have an ocean view but mostly were facing the water park next to the property. The food was great - the beach/pool menu was our favorite as well as Seasalt the rooftop restaurant. We would recommend grabbing a drink at Seasalt before dinner to enjoy the views and watchthe sunset. The infinity pool next to Seasalt is also gorgeous. Overall, we loved our trip and enjoyed the customer service. During our stay, there were a few hiccups, such as not being able to order room service during the day (no one answered, and it is supposed to be 24/7), but we were able to get through and order other mornings. It also seems like at times they are short staffed - there was one morning we went to Boga for breakfast right and they said the wait for an indoor or outdoor table was very long. We ended up just seating ourselves and going to the buffet and taco station. These were all minor and otherwise we felt like the service was great. Would recommend this hotel for a relaxing romantic getaway!
