"I have no doubt that this is the best hotel to book on Isla if you want to be on Playa Norte. Rooms were spacious and the staff were super friendly and helpful. They addressed all of our concerns. When a state worker yelled at my son for accidentally grabbing a beach chair from the pile and placing on the beach too early (apparently they’re not allowed to set up chairs and umbrellas before 9am), the front desk wanted to submit a complaint to the city on our behalf. They truly made our comfort and convenience our top priority. As far as the beach goes, you can’t get any better than right smack in the middle of Playa Norte. It was also within walking distance of plenty great restaurants, not to mention the food carts are right outside too. We had churros and fried plantains almost every night for dessert. Food service was great and there’s something to be said about the quality of food when it is not all inclusive, it’s just better! My family and I had a great time and the staff at Ixchel had a lot to do with that."

He waited on us and brought food, drinks etc to us while floating in the ocean We never had to ask for anything he anticipated what we were wanting before even asking. and walked into the water to bring it too us also gotta say Richie, Ricardo, Louis and Miguel were awesome. They took care of us at the bar and in the dining room. amazing staff Regarding mia. just know. the rooms are clean not updated. but the ocean is amazing and the staff goes above and beyond"

"Property was a nice quiet space away from the party scenes of Cancun but close enough to still have a wonderful time. The amenities in the hotel encourage a cultural immersion atmosphere which allows you to learn about the island, its people, and the history of their behavior patterns (we loved the sunrise walk). Pilates was intense! Somethings to work on: the spa had a non relaxing smell that I would not try given the smell. Only one restaurant open on Sunday night is unacceptable for an all inclusive resort. It was my husband’s 40th and Victor made it up to us by making sure the last night was memorable! Don’t forget to bring insect repellent!"

"The hotel was absolutely beautiful. The property was amazing. Staff were so nice. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because 2 restaurants, a taqueria, a pool bar, and a roof-top pool bar were advertised, and only 1 of the restaurants and the main pool bar were open/available while we were there. It was our first time doing an all-inclusive package, and neither of us drink alcohol. So between the limited food choices and the fact that we don’t drink, I felt like we wasted some money in that regard. Overall, it was an amazing vacation and we would absolutely stay here again. The pool hammocks and cabanas were perfect for lounging the day away."
