“This is a lovely hotel in the centre of Lucca, 10 minutes from the station, although a little climb to get through the city walls. The continental breakfast was welcome, although a little strange that you had to approach the staff for a coffee or hot water rather than the other way round.”

Paolo drove me to the train station when he saw my big luggage and knew that my backbond suffered from pain. Non è un albergo tradizionale, la reception non è sempre aperta: chi è certo di arrivare dopo le 18,00 è meglio che avvisi per telefono, così si organizzano. Per le auto c'è un parcheggio limitato, ma nelle vicinanze si trova comunque posto gratuito.”
