Very convenient classic hotel

Classic hotel but old, looks a bit dusty but actually its quite clean especially the bath and the table. Size of the room and bath is big, location is near National Express bus station and China town so it is very convenient, no complaint. My room's window is facing the a busy road, so if you're sensitive to noise, it is better to ask for a quite room. Staffs are helpful and nice.

This is the worse experience in this hotel. It was noisy all night. The staff knocked my door at 10pm while i was sleeping and asking me whether i am showing with lots of water on the floor because downstair is leaking. I am sorry but i think the crack on the bathroom wall caused this problem thousands of times before. It was not my fault, i finished my shower 30mins ago and the bathroom has no water on the floor

I would put excellent but I don't like the 10am check out unless paying extra, especially when my arrival was not sure if the room was ready because I arrived around midday. Thankfully my room was ready. Luckily I was leaving my room anyway at 10.15 but had received a knock on the door to remind me of the overdue 10am. Just something I have never experienced before and I personally don't like it. I love the hotel, ticks all boxes but this weird 10am check out was not clear to me when booking via ebookers. Only one plug in the room is a little restrictive too. Otherwise great

Worst hotel ever! Staff are very rude and unhelpful. I had issue at night and the staff were unable to resolve any issues. Would not stay here even if it was given to me for a free for a month! Bathroom very dirty, water so hot nearly burnt myself. Paid extra for window and the window was broken would not close. Did not have a telephone in the room.

It took almost 40 minutes to queue and check in. After a 3 hour car journey I was busting for the loo only to find it locked (told I needed to speak to reception). We both were ID’d which has never happened before and only got one room key between us. The room whilst clean, had a weird smell and was really hot and the bed and pillow were rock hard. I barely slept. Thankfully we were there for just one night. Don’t think we will return here.

Location is terrific! Hotel is tired--fabulous decor when first built but needs updated loving. Radiiator het comes on at ??? Times and internet was ok on 1st night and nonexistent on 2nd night.

I paid extra for a window room but the ‘window’ was very high up the wall so you couldn’t see out of it and it barely opened. This was extremely misleading. I was also put in a room right next to a fire door which slammed very loudly every time someone went through it so this was extremely disruptive. I requested to move to another room but the only thing available was a smaller room with no window at all. I didn’t find the staff very helpful or understanding about this. They could’ve at the very least offered a free breakfast or something for the inconvenience. Instead they just said they can’t do anything. The room itself was ok, very run down like the rest of the hotel. Bed was comfy but the pillows rock hard and uncomfortable. Good shower though. The phone in our room didn’t work, nor did the extractor fan in the bathroom. The whole hotel has so much potential but isn’t looked after and the staff aren’t particularly helpful. It’s cheap for a reason. Also no hair dryer in the room which I’d had thought is a basic amenity. The kettle was spotless though. Overall, wouldn’t stay again.

I asked for a high floor and paid for an executive room with a window - what a joke! We were on the fourth floor which had a window but no view whatsoever, the window was so HIGH up. The security guard was very rude when we came in at night - he was very persistent asking us for our room number, I did not appreciate how he spoke to me in front of my 14 year old son. He needs to think before he speaks. DO NOT STAY ON THE FOURTH FLOOR!!!

Staff were not welcoming at all. Tpilet facilities are locked in the lobby area and when I asked to use them (my room was on 5th floor) I was told sorry you need to use the toilet in the public bar area. After 11pm its like a jail where guests must check in and out with id. Rooms were what you pay for. Location is great

Room is a clean condition, weird placing of light switches. No light in the room except outdoor window light. No socket by the bed. The rooms can be a bit of a maze to get to but the reception area is nice
