"The resort is well maintained and close to the ocean. It is far enough away from Kailua-Kona that it feels secluded but close enough to shopping and activities. The villa was very clean and we had a pool and hot tub right outside the room. They offer 1 or 2 bedrooom options with certain views with a full kitchen and living area and washer and dryer. The grounds offer lush plants and flora that surround the villas. Lots of tennis/pickleball courts to play and you can checkout equipment. They have some fun activities like making a bracelet, shaved ice, cultural seminars. Family friendly. I liked that they didn’t charge extra resort or parking fees like other places I looked into. There is a $250 deposit that is done at checkin but gets deposited back into your account after checkout. I would definitely stay there again. Their concierge was helpful in showing what the island has to offer without being pushy about timeshare tours that are available if interested. They do offer seaside villas as well if you want to upgrade. Overall experience was amazing."
"Location is great room was nice and clean. The Hotel needs some repairs on the building exterior and pool area. Green areas are beautiful. The market was very convinient."
"The lodge was very quaint and had a beautiful walking trail. It was delightful to have a fireplace in our room after a damp day of hiking at the National park. The staff were lovely as well and the food at restaurant was delicious."
"It was one of my best stays in all of my travels and vacations in the past few years. I originally only planned one night but stayed one more night. The view from the guesthouse’s lanai is incredibly beautiful and the guesthouse was well-designed and decorated with heart. The room was clean. Most importantly, the staffs welcomed me like a friend. I thank all of the hosts especially Mike, who not only gave me a very detailed tour when I arrived, but also recommended me some places to visit near the area, which I totally enjoyed them. Lastly, I forgot to mention the awesome breakfast they provided. It was so delicious, especially when eating in a setting with the ocean view from the lanai."
"Great location and room was perfect! We traveled as a family of four and this location was perfect for our visit to volcano national park.
Loved hearing all the frogs and birds of the forest at night.
Would have stayed two nights if we could have"
"Our stay at Gingerhill Farm in Hawaii was a truly unique experience and the perfect retreat. If you're looking for something comfortable and memorable outside of the traditional resort stay, this is it.
The outdoor shower and open-air kitchen were absolute highlights—they made us feel immersed in the beautiful surroundings while still having everything we needed. The property is filled with lush gardens, blooming ginger, and vibrant tropical plants that create a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. We also loved spotting the friendly geckos throughout the property, which added to the authentic island experience.
A wonderful bonus was discovering the beautiful artwork by Mayumi Oda displayed throughout the property. Her vibrant, nature-inspired prints complemented the peaceful setting perfectly and added another layer of inspiration to our stay.
If you appreciate nature, tranquility, and a one-of-a-kind place to stay, Gingerhill Farm is a wonderful choice!"
