"Our room unfortunately has little ants crawling around in the bathtub and bar area. Our carpet was also stained. The restaurant was good and had happy hour. "Flies in the barn was an extreme nuisance. Uncut grass from cabin 5 to the barn was annoying. The falls was a amazing. However, be extremely careful if you take the short hike because the uneven rocks is a challenge especially if it rain (9 out 10 times it'll rain). Despite that, Jordan, Abby, & Cady (not in order) was top of line from hospitality, interaction, professionalism, tidiness, etc. & they wasn't ugly :-)"

"Cute mom-and-pop property in a great location near Volcanoes National Park. It felt more like staying in a little house in the rainforest than a hotel. A little rustic, but in a good way. Hearing the birds and other animals at night made it really special. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay!"

"We really enjoyed our time. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Even though we were off grid we still were able to use our phones and internet. Be aware the bathroom and shower are outside but there is still plenty of hot water for the shower and there is a flushing toilet. Glen was an awesome host he kept us informed every step of the way. I would definitely recommend his place. You are completely in tune with nature and it was very relaxing."

"The owners (different than the host) are the best! They made sure that we have everything we need to make our stay comfortable and stress-free as our house in Ka’u was damaged by Hurricane Lala. The Nene Room was beautiful, clean and peaceful with its large picture window overlooking the serene forest. We also stayed in Gecko room that has one bedroom, living room, and kitchen. The Gecko room is comfortable and perfect for family and longer stays. The surrounding is quiet and close to stores, restaurants, and very close proximity to Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park."
