“Great welcome easy check in and friendly team 😁. We arrived late after a long drive - the venue is an old pub with rooms. We navigated our way to the top floor room. As we arrived Halloween weekend we thought the dust and cobwebs in the room were part of the theme. 👻 The carpet around the bed and doors hadn’t been hoovered for months. A layer of dust was on all the light fittings and cobwebs everywhere - bed and pillows weren’t great and we could hear the noise from the high street, boy……

“We had a very enjoyable stay. Ann & Baratt were great hosts. Good location for visiting Monmouth.”

“On the plus side the staff were friendly, the price good, the bed comfy and the parking free. On the negative side, everything looked a bit shabby, doors were dirty, the window in the bedroom didn’t close properly and when a heavy burst of rain occurred water was flowing into the bedroom. The plugs didn’t all work, the television was hung on a wonk, the light was broken and hanging off the wall. I was woken throughout the night with people banging doors and then at 6am was a fire alarm, I left……

“Wonderful accommodations in a most beautiful part of our world. The building is very old and this is not perfect. For us it was perfect. An excellent breakfast each morning and dinner and pints in the evening. Plenty to see nearby. We look forward to visiting again.”

“The venue is currently set up for youth residential events so it doesn't have hotel facilities. Our room was modern and clean with comfortable beds and a good bathroom, but it would have benefited from a few extra amenities. Still, the staff were friendly and welcoming, we absolutely loved the estate and we look forward to visiting again soon. It's a great place for families who enjoy outdoor activities. I enjoyed a delicious Indian breakfast which made a nice change, and my daughter enjoyed her……

“Lovely cottage. Good location too. The only negative was the bugs that woke us up in the middle of the night. A bit scary because they are really big and crawls on your skin. Other than that, still okay.”

“Great spaces in the house. Parking wasn't an issue for us. Would be great if there was a downstairs toilet as well”

“Really nice stay in a small village with a lot of history. The property is situated close to some well known places such as Tintern and Usk. Great communication from the hosts who were very friendly and supporting.”

“Excellent scenic location next to the river. Amazing breakfast choices. Evening meals were always very good and sometimes exceptional. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would hope to return.”

“I was in a single room, basic but clean. The hotel does need a refresh, and that is planned for next year. There is a gym guests can use, and spa treatments are also available (payable) in the Serenity Suite, a separate business on site. Staff were welcoming and very helpful.”
