"We loved it here! So relaxing after a few busy days in Tokyo. Food is amazing and plentiful, and the onsen literally felt healing"

"Really nice historical hotel that has been maintained well. They offer the onsen experience and opportunity to get massages with their spa, zen treatment. I ordered desert at the tea lounge, unfortunately I didn't make a tea time reservation to experience the British tea. But I got the apple pie a la mode, the ice cream really paired well with it. Then I got the "angel" food cake which is really chocolate with the vanilla ice cream. Everything was delicious but expensive. I'm not sure if it was overpriced. The Picot bakery is an extension of the hotel and share similar deserts. They also had croissants and pain au Chocolat which was good too."

"The location was beautiful, perched on top of a mountain overlooking the lake. The only drawback was that nothing was within walking distance, so glad we had a car, but the experience made it well worth it. The staff were professional and polite, and the breakfast buffet was decent, with plenty of options for both a traditional Japanese breakfast and an American-style breakfast. Although the hotel was older and had a slightly musty smell, with a mild mildew smell in the bathroom, we loved our stay! The onsen was my first experience with one, and it did not disappoint—it was the highlight of the hotel for me! There was an outdoor warm pool, an indoor hot pool, two indoor cold pools, a steam room, and a traditional sauna. There were plenty of showers, along with a generous selection of complimentary skincare and hair products. It was a dream and felt so luxurious."
