“It was a lovely room, nicely decorated and good quality presentation of the room including the tea/coffee facilities in the room, but there were 2 things that let it down. Firstly it was a very cold room, the radiators weren't on in both the bedroom and the bathroom, and the aircon unit in the bedroom, which was also a heater was not that powerful, and also there was no heating in the bathroom, and with the very large porcelain floor tiles in the bathroom, it was freezing! The other thing that……

“We had a great one night stay at Berwick Lodge on a a Monday to celebrate a birthday. The sun shone and the Housemartins flew happily around whilst we sat on the terrace having a cocktail. The à la carte menu was fantastic - well worth the cost and breakfast was very tasty. Will definitely stay again in one of the other fantastic looking rooms.”

“A very cute place to stay. Staff weee extremely helpful during our stay.”

“Room not aging well. Stained carpet. Bed linen clean. Towels clean. Shower ok.”

“A little bit difficult to get there but worth the trip. Very nice and comfortable room. Very well stocked with breakfast foods. Very close and easy access to Wales and Eye Valley.”

“Great location. Great staff. Breakfast selection good, but finishes too early for staying on holiday, so missed some breakfasts. Some issues with bathroom: towel rail/radiator not working, extraction fan not working & strong smell of drains.”

“Liked our stay. The fact that HM Queen Elizabeth II stayed a few hours in 1981 gave it a nice twist.”

“The room was pretty decent, and large, and the beds were comfortable, but otherwise the whole place was somewhat run down and not by well maintained, with a musty smell throughout, including in the room and bathroom. The place is just OK, at best. They were no staff there, and it was difficult to communicate with them via email, or text, or Expedia, and you may or may not get a reply. Check-in instructions were not adequate and if you show up early, the place, and the adjoining pub, is closed……

“The staff were extremely helpful on arrival and during our stay. The room was big , tastefully decorated and had everything we needed. All meals were well presented. We will definitely recommend to our friends and will return.”

“Due to age of building plus isolation it had some unique qualities but the staff were all lovely and the stay was enjoyable.”

“very dated ,seen better days , carpets thread bare in places and were smelly, food was average, would not stay there again”

“Frühstück war nicht wie ausgeschrieben 8 Ihr verfügbar so dass wir ohne zum Flughafen mussten”

“Our stay was excellent and would reccomend this to anyone in this area”

“Wonderful accommodations in a most beautiful part of our world. The building is very old and this is not perfect. For us it was perfect. An excellent breakfast each morning and dinner and pints in the evening. Plenty to see nearby. We look forward to visiting again.”

“A lovely hotel at the heart of Wye valley. Barry and Suzy were lovely host with their greetings and service. Delicious breakfast. Clean room. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone wishing to explore Chepstow and the historic Tintern Abbey.”

“房間枱是固定不能移動，插座電掣設在牆腳在另一面，中間隔了一張雙人床，煲水壺電線根本不夠長，如要煲水，水壺必須放在地下近牆腳插蘇，設計大有問題，希望能改善給下一位入住者”
