By car it's about 10-15 minutes from Harrogate town centre (some via country lanes, so not really a walking route in the dark/evening), but the price to stay is reasonable enough to factor in a taxi if you're not driving yourself. Very reasonable, to be honest, as I stayed during a busy convention weekend and accommodation in Harrogate can get pretty pricey.
