Terrific place for an all-inclusive holiday. Resort is a bit dated but extremely well maintained and very clean. Staff were awesome and food was much better than we’ve experienced at similar resorts. A lot of kids and young families. Definitely recommend this place.

Air conditioning super loud, someone kept knocking on our door and running away. Staff came in and cleaned our room even when we have the snooze sign up. Staff also seemed super miserable to be there working. Not very many welcoming or friendly people working there.

This resort was comfortable, clean, and quiet. Not a huge resort but big enough with plenty amenities. The outdoor bar and outdoor seating area near the pool area have a beautiful view to the ocean. The servers in the buffet and bartenders were so attentive and great.The bed and pillows in our room were very comfortable. This resort is also within walking diatance to the famous 5th avenue. I would definitely return to stay at this resort.

The hotel was really nice. Good food, good entertainment and very clean. We did have some issues with the AC as it wouldn't not go below 24° so they came to the room and cleaned it 3 times. It worked ok after that. Except the housekeeping staff would turn it off when the entered the room and wouldn't turn it back on when they left. So the room was always really hot. The beach was amazing! Always lots of loungers and the activities on the beach were great too. We were there with family who booked through a Rep so had different colours bands. We definitely felt like we were treated differently than them. When myself or my partner would for to the buffet on our own, we would be the last people the servers would help. When we were with family we always got seen pretty fast. We also noticed that the entertainment staff would never approach us to join in on the activities unless we were with family who had the orange bands.

I would recommend that nobody EVER stay at this hotel. We stayed at Viva Azteca for one night and were transferred to Viva Maya for the rest of our stay. This was due to harassment by the “manager of security”. I asked for the video footage by the bar and was ably to prove that he was harassing my 20 year old daughter and her 23 year old friend. He accused them of being underage and when they showed him their ID’s, he continued to harass them and told all bars to not service them anymore. We had been there 2 hours. They were not drunk but he cut them off anyway. On the video, you could see them trying to get away from him while he kept following them. They showed no signs of aggression while he did, constantly flailing his arms at them. At one point, he grabbed my daughter’s friend and tried to make her go with him but would not say where. She refused and was scared. The only way they got away from him was when I showed up. Other staff was watching and did nothing to stop the harassment. When we got back to our room, we found the door locked and our keys would not access it. It had to be unlocked by maintenance. The following morning, we went to breakfast and when we returned we were once again locked out. I went to the front desk and they made a false allegation of us breaking the door and would not let us into our room until I paid them $100 US dollars. I asked to speak to customer service and see the video footage.

Staff helpful, enjoyed the restaurants. Mexican one especially. They definately make sure your wine glass does not get empty. I believe the resort was fully booked but did not have problems with getting beach chairs or chairs by the pool. Yes some people put towels to save spots but was still able to get a spot. Resort is not a mega resort so was very nice as it was not crazy busy. Great resort to go to to just enjoy you vacation. Seaweed season was starting early, but really nothing as they cleaned beach every morning. Overall a great place and would definately book again

This resort is excellent for families yet it is quiet and relaxing if that is what you want. The only complaint/suggestion I have is to have more garbage cans placed throughout the resort and possibly institute a recycling program. When booking with Expedia, you are considered a VIP and receive a spa voucher. Candy at the spa provided a deep tissue massage as good or better than what I receive at home! The à la carte restaurants do not require a reservation and we were able to walk in each time we went. I will definitely be back!

Although our stay was only for a few days, the staff at the entire resort was very helpful and friendly! From the front desk, to the bellhops, housekeeping and the restaurant servers. The room was comfortable and clean. The food at the a la carte restaurants were very good and the buffet had lots of variety. The best part was the stunning beach! Lots of chairs even when we didn’t start our beach day until noon! While there was no beach service for drinks, it wasn’t a big deal. We brought a large insulated cup and filled up at the bar. All in all we really enjoyed Viva Azteca would absolutely at this resort again for longer!!

Check-in was very slow and long lines. Some people received beverages in line but not us. We asked about free upgrade for VIP Expedia status and they lied and switched us from garden view to pool view without mentioning the change of location. We had to go back to the front desk with our bags to ask for our garden view. They put us in a terrace room even closer to the pool. There was no language barrier. Finally on the third attempt we got an experienced staff member who seemed to understand we wanted a quiet garden room. Next time we will make sure the “free upgrade” isn’t a downgrade to noisy poolside before leaving the front desk.

Nous avons passé une semaine au Viva Azteca, la dernière semaine de 2025. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié les installations, la propreté et le confort des chambres (nous étions un groupe de 17 personnes). Les membres du personnel ont été réactifs et sympathiques.
