Really enjoyed my stay here. The hotel was clean, the receptionist was very friendly and provided great service. The room facilities were all in great condition, and everything was well maintained. The à la carte menu was also amazing, with really good food. Overall, a very pleasant stay and I’d happily come back.

I absolutely loved my stay at Hotel Gaivota in Ponta Delgada. My room was spacious, bright and very quiet, which made it a perfect place to relax after a day exploring São Miguel. The kitchenette had everything I needed for a short stay. The breakfasts were exceptional, with a great choice and everything fresh and well presented. The room was always kept very clean, and all the hotel staff were polite, friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The location is also excellent, right on the seafront and within easy walking distance of the centre of Ponta Delgada. I felt very comfortable here and would happily stay again. Highly recommended!

Having a kitchen in the room is helpful for cooking food bought from the grocery store just next to this hotel. With a balcony with no good view at all, room is kind of pricey. Bathroom is big but shower head has water pressure issue.

Hotel was in a great location, right across from the Marina. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. The rooms were spacious and clean. Hotel staff was very helpful and friendly and made out stay easier. If you have a car, street parking is very difficult to find. However, there is underground parking across the street which is convenient. Ask the hotel for a pass. We had a great stay and had time to enjoy the wellness centre. Highly recommend this hotel.

Definitely consider this hotel! Solo traveler who liked the small 'apartment' style room I booked. One room was a kitchenette with table/tv/sofa and another was the bedroom with attached bath. I could cook or microwave food and store items in the refrigerator. The Hotel seemed relatively new or newly-renovated. Breakfast was provided and it was well staffed and offered a range of food and drink options. Nice location just a few blocks from the center of Ponta Delgada and a view of the Atlantic Ocean. I did not partake of the hotel's offered baths and pool, but many did. One downside is a tiny elevator so on occasion have to take the stairs to save time--five floors up for me--worked off a few calories.

My family and I stayed at Hotel Gaivota overnight on our way back to the US from Mainland Portugal. Everything about the stay made us want to come to Sao Miguel again and book Hotel Gaivota for the full stay. Check in was clear and concise and efficient despite having been booked thru a 3rd party (in this case Expedia). The accommodations were clean, stylish, well appointed and an overall good value for the price. The entire hotel was fantastically maintained and the staff were kind, professional and helpful. The hotel is in a great location, close to the airport and central to all parts of the island. It’s close to restaurants, bars and attractions. As stated above, on returning to Sao Miguel I would most certainly try to book Hotel Gaivota for the stay.

Property front desk person was very helpful with the check-in process and getting us checked in a few hours early. Person was also very helpful with helping us coordinate parking since there is no on-site parking for the hotel and you're basically having to park on the street. Front desk hotel personnel was very very helpful.

The property was clean. The included breakfast was wonderful, there was plenty to choose from, something for everyone plus you could order from a menu. The apartment rooms are spacious with a well stocked kitchen. The only problem was we couldn't figure out how to unfold the sleeper sofa. Our daughter was sick and wanted to utilize the sleeper but we were told it was for ages 12 and under. Which makes no sense. The age of a person shouldn't matter. If the sleeper has a weight limit that should be the discussion.
