"The ground floor bar and entrance is lovely but that theme didn't follow to the rooms. Perhaps I should have paid for a better room but I was hoping for the same vibe upstairs. Rather than sleek and quirky it was more student basic in my opinion. The paint on the ceiling in the bedroom and the bathroom were peeling off and there was black on the ceiling above the shower. The room was functional. However the team were polite, friendly and efficient and instead of working in my room I worked downstairs in the relaxed bar area. I didn't have breakfast but when I checked out a couple were having what looked and smelled like I lovely cooked breakfast! I would stay again but would go for an upgrade room and hope it was more like those in the pictures."

"The property was exactly as described and came with a lot more extras than expected such as cleaning supplies, extra toilet paper a clothesline in the back and seasoning if we wanted to cook and stay in. The host was exceptional in communication and when we had a small issue he came out to the house to assist within a few minutes. Bishal is a great host and I would definitely stay at this property again."

"Very nice cottage in ideal location for the town centre. Check in was smooth and the cottage was very clean and tidy. My husband and I stayed with our adult son who was house hunting in Colchester. It might not be suitable for someone with poor mobility as the stairs were very narrow and steep and the bathroom was downstairs, but it was fine for us. Also very well equipped. Leaving a brolly would have been useful as we got caught in a shower walking to the car park...!"
