“The location itself was the draw to this resort, and it was worth the effort to get there. We found the area to be very relaxing and tranquil. There was only one night with some excessive noise by a neighboring cottage. Otherwise, it felt like we were there alone for most of the time we spent at the resort. The cottage had plenty of space both inside and outside. Got plenty of use of the hot tub. I will say the interior was somewhat dated and there were many stains on the carpet and even the……

“Staff and cleanliness were fantastic. They actually had a nice place to get water coffee tea and treats at all times which was so lovely. Also had a lounge to have Sherry with other guests from 5-7. Locations was great little extras they supplied was appreciated. Nice stay. The only thing I would say is you can hear other guests although everyone was respectful. “Hosts were incredibly friendly, warm and receptive. Their dogs (hypoallergic poodles) were the cutest to play with and well-behaved. The room itself (Library Room) is cozy and rustic with more than enough things we needed. Some items like toothpaste are lacking but I'm sure that if you ask the hosts, you'll be able to get one anyway. Overall, the experience was incredible and I would recommend this place to everyone! Just note that the location is rather detached from most places and it gets……

“The Cottage and Castle is absolutely charming, beautifully decorated and situated in a lovely neighborhood of colourfully painted houses and As well it is anIt’s a real gem. However as we returned after an evening out the stench in the air from a soil, composting, wastewater and recycling treatment plant was overwhelming. I there is a solution to this as Chemainus is a charming town and the Cottage and Castle was exceptional! ”

“Oh boy...I greatly dislike writing negative reviews. While Chemainus is adorable, the location is fantastic and the exterior is a dream...this aint it. Mouldy drapes, a number of amenities were broken (electric fireplace, mouldy fridge), no wifi, questionably clean bedsheets. And (I have photos as proof) a white substance residue left on the counter next to the bed. I will say that the indoor jet tub was amazing! I swear I heard a cough below us at one point and noticed a little door that looked……
