Great location, old property

Only downside to the house is it’s very run down. Location is great, check in was great. Fine for a spring break college group but not adults or families.

Excellent week!

This house was the perfect size for our party of 11. Beautiful view, lovely pool, perfect location. Everything was very clean. The home is outdated and could use some updates, but it was fine for our stay! I would stay here again.

My stay at The Blessing

"Blessings" was a true Blessing

Our family of 12 fit comfortably in the home. The views were spectacular and the home has plenty of room to spread out for privacy. The location is convenient for either walking to restaurants or a short drive to shopping/eating. Additionally, Modern Beach Vacations was awesome! From booking all the way through the stay, our property manager was helpful and in touch. We had internet issues that she promptly took care of. The house needs updates so if you are looking for plush surroundings, this is not the place. But if you're looking for a seamless booking in a home right on the beach where you can have six adults and six active kids, this is your place! We would come again in a heartbeat.

Grandma and Grandpa’s beach cottage

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Let’s start out by saying we truly loved the property. If you are looking for something ultra modern, new, with the Instagram aesthetic - this isn’t for you. This is more of grandma and grandpas beach cottage. Could the property use some TLC? Sure. HOWEVER to get 5 bedrooms, directly on the beach, with a private heated pool and walking distance to shops/restaurants in Santa Rosa Beach for this price it can’t be beat. We are typically Marriott people, but we would stay here again in a heartbeat and absolutely plan on coming back.

It had ample room for our eight (8) adults without it ever feeling crowded. House is in need of some updating and repairs.Bathrooms were run down and cabinets need to be replaced. Rear deck and stairs to beach need to be replaced. Front stairs are dangerously rotted out and need to be replaced.

Great location but AC on the fritz

A great location. The property is spacious and the private pool is a perk. Unfortunately, the AC was not working properly our entire vacation. We sweltered in 77 degree temps most of the time with the AC set to 68. The property manager was very responsive. However, I had to communicate with them and meet maintenance people or outside vendors every single day of our seven day vacation. The house does not have a safe; so I had to be present while people were working in the house. We also noticed all of the upstairs vents dropped condensation on the floors and in one bedroom onto a bed. This made us a little concerned about mold in the vents and attic. I would only endorse this property if the owner can prove the AC units and vents have been replaced and a current mold inspection has been conducted. If these repairs are made, it is lovely and spacious location for a family vacation.

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed our stay , location is great, but house needs repair's. The air never cooled the house. We kept all doors shut and curtains closed to keep the house as cool as possible. We had to utilize all the fans in every closet. The front porch railing was not secure. This could be a big safety hazard. The steps going down to the beach 2 boards were not nailed down and one entire step is missing. They have exposed nails over by the water hose. Sink in master bathroom doesn’t drain well. Microwave handle was broken. Back door handle came off several times. Overall the location was great but lots of safety concerns.

Reviewer Comments: We had a lot of trepidation about Blessings based on prior reviews, but we were pleasantly surprised - a lot of work has been done to restore the property. All the furniture was either new or in good working order. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking even complex meals and the appliances worked. But nothing edible - not even salt and pepper - is provided. The house itself is spacious, bright, clean and clutter free with great views - and of course, just steps from the beach. Most beds, not all, are comfortable. The rental company provides beach chairs, umbrellas and beach towels, and the pool was well heated. Donna, at the rental company, was also quick to reply to questions/texts.One safety issue that needs addressing: The front door's top latch does not work, so our 3-yr old was able to open the front door and go outside where the pool is located. There are also a number of minor broken things around the house - we left a list - but none of them impeded our enjoyment of the property or needed immediate attention. The walls are thin and noisy neighbors on one side (it's a house that sleeps 28) were an issue until we requested them to turn down the music after 10pm. But the neighborhood is quiet. The porch is in bad condition splinter-wise: both kids got splinters, so be careful! It would also have been nice if the windows opened (esp bedrooms), but they are all painted shut or locked.

Great location, home needs to be updated

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Loved that this home was directly on the beach and had a pool. We paid for the pool to be heated but did have some issues with the heater not working. They did send someone out quickly to address that issue. We all were expecting a bit more from the home, such as updates throughout, being provided with more than one extra roll of toilet paper in each bathroom, papertowel and there were no boxes of kleenex. We had to ask management for kitchen towels since there wasn't any and we quickly ran out of spoons with 11 people staying. Management provided the towels, new sharp knives (current knives were so dull) and a lighter (grill starter is broken) quickly. The bathrooms need a full gut job and kitchen as well. Refrigerator was missing drawers/shelves, some windows can't see out of and the inside stairs and railing were chipping and very sticky. A screen door and screens in the kitchen windows would be nice to let some fresh air in too. Wear shoes on the deck or else you could get a huge splinter. Some boards are rotten and paint chipping. The back bathroom is a bit creepy and my kids wouldn't go in it. We feel the best part about this home is the location, the beach service with chairs and umbrellas, and that it has a pool. We would rent it again if it were updated. I would recommend for the location but if willing to spend a bit more, you could rent an updated home in the same area.

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is an older house that hasn’t been well maintained. Too many small things that need attention to list BUT the location is great. The deck definitely needs some repairs but is functional. The deck furniture pictured is not the furniture that is there and one chaise was broken. Most of the backs on the sectional in the living area are broken but it is useable. When we contacted the “guest liaison” about problems they responded right away but it did take a couple of days to get some things resolved. The beach was not crowded since it’s private for local beach houses. The AC worked well during our stay. The pool was so nice to have and well maintained. Beds were all comfortable enough. The kitchen was pretty well stocked. Our group of 14 included three generations and we had a wonderful trip. This is an “adequate” house in a fantastic location.

Great Vacation

The location of the property was perfect and the size with the number of bedrooms was great. The property was clean but had some deferred maintenance issues like the steps going down to the beach had a missing step plus grass growing through the steps. The back deck needed painting. There were lights out in the living area. But I would recommend highly for the location and the comfort we all experienced.

Count your Blessings - Amazing 3 Generation Vacation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our 3 generation family fell in love with Blessings. You cannot beat the location and those amazing views . The house is large, open and airy with big bedrooms and space for everyone without getting in people’s way.We loved the pool as well. It was wonderful to have the choice of a day at the beach or the pool and most days we did both. We loved the beach service with 6 chairs and 3 umbrellas.I can not say enough about Donna. She is fantastic, totally on her game with such quick responses with any questions or concerns we had.I am actually booking again for next year and hope to make Blessings a yearly family tradition.

Kids said best vacation since they had kids

Reviewer Comments: When we pulled up to Blessings we were a bit skeptical...the outside needs some TLC but when we opened the door we were pleasantly surprised! The furniture has been recently replaced with ample seating for all. The bedrooms were very comfortable with great mattresses. The kitchen was well equipped. The inside was not plush but comfortable and clean. The location was fabulous with just steps to the beach. The pool was excellent and heated... the grandkids swam before breakfast everyday. Donna was a delight to work with on just a couple of issues. She was quick to respond. We were able to walk to restaurants and shops. Really the only negative was the condition of the outside.... landscaping, paint, windows, outdoor shower...all need some attention.

Family Beach week

Our family of 10 loves the beach and spends most all our time at the beach - not so much shopping, dining out or other activities. This house appears to be one of the original beach houses in Dune Allen. It is spacious, with the best beach access and views, in a nice spot across the street from Gulf Place shopping and dining. The house is in need of maintenance and renovation, but it served our purposes beautifully.

The location was perfect, the pool was great, big spacious house for all 15 of us. The ac worked really well. There needs to be some cleaning or painting done inside and out. It is just run down to a certain extent. The cabinet door in bathroom comes off in your hand, etc, little things like that!Overall, it was fine bc we had 8 kids and didn’t have to worry about them breaking anything! I’d probably give it a 3.5 if possible

Great Location!

We very much enjoyed our stay at Blessings. It is right on the beach. And very close to restaurants and shops. It was wonderful to step outside and watch the dolphins in the mornings and walking right out the back door, down the stairs and down the beach to our chairs! It was a very peaceful time and much needed.

The Perfect Beach Getaway

A perfect spot for a perfect vacation! Situated on the beach, the view was gorgeous, and the pool was delightful. The locale in Dune Allen was next to Gulf Place which features great restaurants and quaint shops. The rental agency, Modern Beach, was phenomenal… Donna checked on us frequently and was always prompt, courteous, and helpful. We will definitely book this property again!

Excellent location

We loved this property which is right on the beach with close walking distance to shops, restaurants etc. Location can’t be beat and is away from the hustle and bustle closer in to Destin. Beds were comfortable and plenty of kitchen amenities for cooking etc. Any needs we had were promptly addressed from the property management company. Will definitely stay here again but agree with others that house could use some updating.

Relaxing Beach House

The home is a lovely beach house. The beds and pillows were so comfortable. The view from the deck was beautiful. Communication with the property was immediate. The pool was heated and the kids enjoyed it. The easy stroll to the six beach chairs and umbrellas every day while the kids went up and down the stairs was very family friendly. Thank you for such a restful stay.
