“The facility is new. The staff was unprepared. The room was wrong (1 bed vs 2)! So someone had to sleep on sofa bed. The staff just said 'Oh well this is all we have left tonight.' The only thing good about this place is the location to the airport. if that is all you are looking for then this place probably works but you will NOT have any other good feelings from staying in this location and we were not the only group that you could hear complaining in the lobby!”

The only issue that I had, and it was very minor, was finding the check-in instructions, but it was no trouble - another guest showed me the way. Well, there was a second issue. The driveway is very steep with some very sharp turns. I had everything I owned in the back of my pickup, so with the added weight, it was problematic for me to maneuver the driveway. “We enjoyed our stay at the Alaskan Hotel very much! We knew it was an old hotel, built in 1913, but we enjoy unique, historic properties. That is not everyone’s preference. We had the “shared bathroom” experience because we booked last minute due to airline cancellations. That was fine with us - the bathrooms and showers were very clean - but again, that would not be everyone’s cup of tea.
