Island South is an oceanfront resort community on St. Augustine Beach. This family-friendly community is a short drive from historic downtown St. Augustine when you're ready to explore. Take a walk over the private boardwalk to the beaches of St. Augustine or take a dip in the community pool!

You must always display the provided parking pass hangers in your vehicle when parked at ISLAND SOUTH. ROAM TOWING has been enforced by the HOA to tow all vehicles that do not have a parking pass hanger visibly displayed.

Great location. Unit was OK. But could have been cleaner, carpets needed cleaning, we found some spoons under the bed crusted with something green. The patio screens were not in good shape, one had to have holes Duck taped to keep the cute little skinks out, and be used. Unit was roomy enough for two couples. Lots of clean towels and wash cloths. Alliances worked fine. Lots of closet and drawer space.

Beautiful complex. Lush tropical landscape. Everyone staying there was super friendly. Great location. Walking distance to some great restaurants. And perfect beach access. Ready to come back for next year!!

Check in was easy with all the information given ahead of time. Unit was on the ground floor but had 3 steps up to the door. Unit was the perfect size and comfortable beds. Kitchen was equipped with everything you would need while on vacation. Ice maker did not work but they provided ice trays. Wonderful pool and walkway to the beach. We enjoyed our stay very much.

The location was perfect with restaurants within walking distance and pool/beach access just outside the back door. Unit was clean and stocked well. Would definitely stay there again.

Could use updating

We have rented other condo in this complex. It is beautiful but the interiors are very dated. This one had new kitchen and bathroom cabinet doors. Everything from the furniture to the battered and rusty refrigerator was old. The kitchen utensils, pots and pans, dishes and glasses were clearly thrift shop finds. Nothing matched. The sliders were so ghosted you could barely see outside. And the drapes! Dressers were very old. The bed was comfortable and the water for showers was hot. The towels were soft but didn’t match. We won’t be staying there again.

Just the basics for all you need

This location is great! It is a very simple, bare bones interior, but it had all we needed. The beds were extremely comfortable and furniture in the living room was comfortable as well. Access to the beach was nice, as was the pool. Lots of restaurants, bars and ice cream places within walking distance. It is well worth waking up early to go to beach and watch sunset. Another thing worth mentioning, the other renters at the property were welcoming and we enjoyed chatting with them about the area. They gave us some great recommendations. The only issue was the lack of toiletries. There was not even travel size shampoo, conditioner. The items there was a couple rolls of toilet paper and a very small bar of soap in each bathroom.

Great location … Unit needs upgrades

We loved the location… short walk to beach …. Short drive to historic area….. close to many restaurants. The unit however needs an extensive upgrade…. Appliances, patio furniture, closet shelving, carpet and patio doors. There was no elevator in the building even though it was listed in the posting on VRBO. This unit is on the first floor so was not a problem. But be aware that Island South has no elevators and both buildings are 3 floors. We also would have liked the pool to be heated as the weather was cooler than expected.

Great location

The property is in a great location and is maintained well. The condo however was not as advertised. It is very outdated from the kitchen app and sliding doorsthat has so much moister in them it was difficult to see out. The tub in the master shower was so slick we had to but a tub mat so we didn't fall.

Great Stay!

Perfect location! Walk out to pool & beach. Not super modern but great for our needs. Has a vintage shore house vibe! Needed to contact leasing agent for pool code and they were helpful and got back to me with the info in minutes. Visiting family on 5th, we will definitely be back and recommend to other family members needing a close place to stay. We have stayed at the Courtyard in the past and having the kitchen was well worth the switch.

Short walking distance from beach and eateries. About 15-20 min drive away from attractions. Overall clean place. Minor pest issues. A little out dated and only one small working television in the living room with limited channels ( I can’t fall asleep without the TV on).

Great place to stay

We enjoyed our stay here very much. It fit the 4 adults well. Bathrooms are on the small size but the bedrooms were nice. We had an issue connecting to the Wi-Fi which the agency finally got the correct information. We needed this as one of the adults needed it so they could work at times. We never did get to the beach and couldn’t locate the chairs that the post had indicated that they were available to us. If they were in the unit, they were not easily found! I would recommend staying there.It was very clean and comfy!

Winter escape

We drove down from Massachusetts and rented #18 for 4 weeks to escape the cold. The complex was lovely and location was great!!! This unit is in need of replacement windows and sliders as they are fogged up due to age and you literally could not see through the window glass. This was a little disappointing after driving 2 days but the weather was nice and we could keep the sliders open for most of the time we stayed. There was also a musty/smoky smell which dissipated with the cross breeze. We did notify First Choice upon our arrival of a few items needing attention and they promptly sent someone over to fix outdoor lights that were not working along with a couple of other minor things. That being said, we enjoyed our stay and would book again if the sliders and windows were replaced and the no pets policy was changed. We would love to bring our dog next time.
