"This was one of the most exceptional stays I’ve ever had (including five star hotels). Casa do Santo is a truly hidden gem and I’m lucky we got to experience it before it grows in popularity. Maria and the staff are so attentive, helpful and welcoming, and Barco (the property dog) is an added bonus! If you’re looking to stay in the Douro valley in a cute, quaint town and want something relaxing and stunning, I couldn’t recommend this place more. "

"Staff at the hotel were superb.. I read some of the comments about five star hotel in previous reviews while the hotel itself may not be a five-star the staff and the service is easily five-star… I laugh at some of the comments…. if you want little slippers and matching housecoat, look like a prince and princess, then go to Palace… the meals were suburban with the first class chef from Brazil… when I came to the restaurant bar you couldn’t want more for service and quality…. awesome place for...
