Upon arrival of the bag handling guys wrote on my suitcase accidentally with pen and I got upset because he just damaged my new Beis suitcase. And when I made a big deal, they changed me from room 16 to room 8…. Whatever that means. When I checked into the room, the light behind the headboard didn’t work, the nightstand lamps didn’t work- one of them, shocked me. The pool lights didn’t work at night time and neither did the led strip around the floor. And neither did the outside lights work in the front porch or the tree lights. When I went to go, ask them if they could get them to work Rocardo at the desk said that none of them are supposed to turn on or work and I told him that was the reason why I booked the room- So that I could use the pool at night. As I’m browsing Instagram, I see that other people and a friend who just checked in also have the lights on in their rooms that I was told aren’t an amenity that are supposed to turn on that it was just for the photos for “promotional purposes.” Weird vibes.

Our stay at Hotel Milam was truly magnificent! The room was beautiful, the pool was warm and inviting, the food served was delicious, and most importantly the hotel was very well appointed. The best part of it all was the staff! We were warmly greeted by Ara who was kind and informative. She made our stay even more enjoyable and she made us feel at ease. Mira recommended Eufemia for the best beach vibe (we went twice. Once to see the sunrise and once for sunset). Rafael was also very kind and made or stay feel effortless when he’d call taxi’s for us. The housekeeping team kept our room clean and were very quick! Overall, this place made us feel safe, comfortable, and excited the whole time. Beautiful views in the jungle. 10/10 would come again!!

The only thing is, make sure you go when there is more people. We arrived December 9th and it was like a ghost town. People started showing up closer to the weekend. Hopefully we can bring a very large group next time.

Staff was extremely polite and friendly. Our retreat was what we expected. The spa staff was very mice and the bar & restaurant was good. Assisting with transportation arrangements was extremely helpful. Just 2 recommendations- We felt like someone came on our premises one night so maybe more lights on the backside & entrance to each retreat. And it was not an issue but maybe let visitors know ahead about the $400 deposit prior to arrival.
