"We received a phone call from The Grange several hours before check-in, telling us that we could check in early if we wished as the weather was poor. This was just the start of the care and attention we found during our stay. The room was beautiful and very well appointed, the rest of the hotel (guest house seems too reductive) equally beautiful. A quiet, relaxing, place with fabulously attentive staff who were just so willing to help. The styling and attention to detail were second to none. The breakfasts were wonderful, too. Cereals, fruit, yoghurt, and a range of cooked breakfasts that we very much enjoyed and which really set us up for the day. This was our second stay at The Grange and we can't wait to return!"

"The room was clean beside a blood stain on one of the duvets. Staff were friendly and helpful. Parking was an issue as the road was being resurfaced, but the staff did tell us where the best place to park was. The breakfast was excellent, it really set us up for a day in the hills. "The breakfast buffet was excellent although the hot buffet would benefit from closed containers as the food soon became cold from the open ones. The rooms were well heated and ventilated. All the staff were excellent and very dog friendly. My only complaint was although I had asked for a ground floor room due to problems with my knees this was not available and I had to manage the stairs which was difficult. On the whole à very pleasant break"

"Really nice staff. Peter was especially helpful putting something I’d left on one side until I could return and pick it up. The hotel is pretty big running along several Georgian houses. The room was very large and very well modernised As a hotel they don’t serve breakfast but that’s not an issue as several nearby places do. It’s located on a lovely spot - probably the best area to see Cockermouth . I’d thoroughly recommend it"
