“Loved the secluded location within walking distance of the southern end of Lake Windmere. The cottage was smart and very clean, and well equipped, but we were stumpted on how to adjust the settings on the upmarket oven (a manual in kitchen drawer would have helped). We found that we had to be vigilant about the step in dark slate floor between bedrooms and kitchen/lounge (we used a bit of white cardboard to visually remind ourselves.) Had a great stay at The Bothy, we highly recommend it ”

“The cottage we stayed in was very nice and loads of space . An ideal location for trail running and long dog walks Threlkeld and keswick were not far away. Loved the doggy treats that were left out. Our only complaint would be that the tv in the lounge had no freeview channels . Had to mirror with my phone. The log burner was lovely and comforting. The ash tray was not emptied by the last guest . Also the welcome package in the kitchen. All the biscuits were well out of date . Otherwise……

“The lords seat was a lovely place to stay, very comfortable and clean. Great location with amazing views. Nice to have the extras like the dvds and games. The only disappointing thing was the water going off (ironic in the lake district) but obviously not your fault. The only thing that would have helped is instructions on a couple of things. “The Cottage was ideally located for lots of adventures and had a very homely feel. The Cottage has the benefit of off road parking and because there are really good amenities in Braithwaite together with the fabulous walks from the door ranging from a Wainwright to a gentle stroll around the village we didn't use the car. We particularly enjoyed the walk up Barrow and Outerside with our dog Toby. I'm sure we will be staying again.”

“The house is kept beautifully clean. Views from it are mind blowingly fabulous. Needs more hanging space in the bathroom and unfortunately there was a smashed window covered in cardboard in the front hall that I was not informed about. “We had a four night stay at Grisedale pike. We found the accommodation to be warm, comfortable, spacious and welcoming with a Christmas tree and lights in the living room. The location is good, close to shops and lovely place to eat. The welcome box for us and a separate welcome box for our dog was appreciated. "I recently stayed at this hotel and had a mixed experience. Unfortunately, the room was not very pleasant—it felt quite outdated and wasn’t as clean as expected, with noticeable spider webs. In addition, it was quite noisy in the morning, which made it difficult to rest properly. On a more positive note, the restaurant staff were excellent. They were very friendly, welcoming, and provided great service, which was definitely a highlight of my stay. Overall, while the staff made a good impression, the condition of the room and the noise levels could really use improvement."
