Pools, property, beach and overall areas are beautiful and we never felt it was crowded. There’s so much space and areas to explore! Our stay was excellent. Some suggestions: better reception and room service, I asked for help getting kitchen items to feed my baby, dish soap or warm water for bottles and they just said they couldn’t. The kids pool area would be perfect if heated, it took my kids a lot of time adjusting to the temperature. Last, our purpose of selecting an All Inclusive resort was to avoid extra planning related to meals and activities, but we found ourselves confused about our dining options and activities, it is hard to even have a map of the property or a suggested plan to explore it, it felt like they just wanted us to stay put by the beach, pool and buffet. Exploring didn’t feel encouraged but rather an endeavour.

This is a beautiful resort, one of the largest that I’ve stayed at, with many amenities. I was there for a wedding & stayed for 1 week. The variety of pools was great! The pools are large in size - everything from lap pool to kids pool. This is a child friendly resort. The property is in excellent condition. It is a very large resort with 4 resorts in 1 & an extremely long, fine sand beach. You can snorkel right off the beach. There are 2 double decker open air buses that provide transportation to the 4 resorts. The pickleball courts were wonderful but the pickleball paddles were terrible & they only provided 1 ball. I wish that the staff spoke more English. The spa was wonderful & the seaweed detox & deep tissue massage was a treat. I used the 40% discount that was offered for making an appointment in the 1st 48 hours. The mini golf course is 18 holes & pretty challenging but the clubs provided were not putters, they were irons. There are lots of deck chairs available but people get up very early to put a towel on a chair. It was difficult to find a chair some days. Could there be a better way? We were there with a large group & it would have been nice to be able to reserve an area on the beach where we could all sit. The beach does have a lot of palm trees for shade. I have a number of food allergies & the staff at the restaurants were always concerned & very accommodating. The red wine is awful. I would expect my concerns addressed before I would return.

Facility and beach are gorgeous. It’s also an incredibly clean resort. Tons of fun activities and the drinks and food are good. Only issues are that getting reservations for the restaurants is a complete nightmare and try to get as much information on any excursions. We did Isla Mujeres and it’s a bus that picks you up and takes you. It’s about 2-3 hours there and back and makes stops at other resorts along the way.

I was promised I would get a room upgrde but that did not happen even though they had availability. They asked Expedia to contact the property. I reached out to Expedia and the supervisor told me that they have reached out but the reservation office confirmed there was no contact. I reached out Expedia 6 times but there was no luck to get me to speak the manager.

This was trip #4 for us, and as we’ve found in the past, it was another wonderful stay at the Barceló resort. This was our first stay in the Palace section, and we are still having discussions about which section we like the best. (we’ve stayed Beach, Caribe and Colonial on prior trips) The Palace was lovely, but we all really enjoyed the central location on the resort of the Caribe & the Colonial sections & our kids loved the large balcony of our room at the Caribe, they voted Caribe as their favourite section. The extra dinner locations, the Palace pool, & additional theatre to chose your evening entertainment from, were all added advantages for the Palace, but in the end I think we agreed that unless we were getting the Palace as the best price, we would choose Caribe as our favourite section. We always stay premium and enjoy the premium room locations, the staff in the premium lounges, & never have issues with dinner reservations. The pool at the Palace was an amazing draw for our family & it did not disappoint! It was a fun space. We rode the red double decker buses more on this trip then any other. The Palace is further away from things (& we had grandparents with us). The bus is fun so we didn’t mind. Ember Shores was at the resort during our trip. It made us thankful that we were at the Palace and far away from the thumping (of the music). We would not have been happy at the Caribe while this event was happening.

Rooms were great, staff was friendly and so helpful, food was amazing especially at the Al a’cart restaurants, lots of iguanas and gecko’s, great pools and swim up bars. Beaches were great and ocean is teaming with fish making snorkeling the best.
