This was my 3rd visit to this resort. We were met with the same amazing customer service as always and it continued throughout our stay.
We noticed a few differences from previous years, and some aspects were pleasantly the same.
Food: almost all really good food, as usual. The Steakville restaurant is one to avoid. A good cut of beef has proven to be hard to find at an all-inclusive resort in Mexico. The other restaurants were really good and had lots of variety. It is definitely best to make your reservations as quickly as you can upon arrival for the best dinner choices.
Room: The room was quite dated but comfortable. We were told upon arrival that we were being given an upgrade (both rooms that we booked), but they were clearly the rooms we paid for so I'm not sure why that was even mentioned.
Grounds: The building and grounds are kept so so clean; this property is really an amazing little gem in the jungle surrounded by lush greenery and lots of different wildlife.
Overall we loved it. Still hate fighting for a beach/pool chair but that is a problem everywhere it seems. Resorts need to develop a fair system for that. We saw several towels on chairs all day and no people on them.
Shoutout to the two wonderful ladies that were working in the buffet restaurant by the pool. Made us feel so special every time we arrived!

The resort was very nice. Food was actually quite good for an all inclusive resort AND they were accommodating with my food allergies, I had no issues, which is a big deal to me.
Pros: Clean rooms, good food, allergy friendly, friendly staff, nice pool, beautiful beach, good shows, good air conditioning in the room, awesome shower, not a bad bed/pillow.
I say con very lightly as I don't feel it's necessarily a negative just some thing to be aware of if it's your first time. This is a much more "relaxing" resort so if you are looking for something a bit more up beat you may want to look somewhere else. What I mean by that is it was a bit of an older crowd (primarily) with not much happening mid day. Mid day at the pool there is not even background music playing for something to listen to which is a little bit of a vibe kill in my opinion. I would have liked to have something in the background to listen to while relaxing. It was almost awkward being so silent.
We also had the first room at the entrance of our building which was right next to the staff entrance, which got a bit noisy early in the morning when they were beginning their day. It happens, it just wasn't the most ideal.
2 suggestions I would make to the resort itself are
1. Some fans in the gym would go a long way
2. Some hooks in the room/bathroom. There are no drawers for clothes and only 1 hook in the bathroom so there's nowhere to hang towels etc.

We had such a wonderful stay at Catalonia Royal Tulum. What truly makes this resort special is the staff — every single person we interacted with was kind, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. You can tell they take pride in what they do, and it made all the difference in our experience.
One of our favorite parts was the jungle pathway that winds through the property. Walking to breakfast or the beach each day felt like a little adventure — spotting coatis, iguanas, and other wildlife along the way was such a unique and magical touch. It really sets this resort apart from others.
The beach is absolutely gorgeous — soft white sand, beautiful turquoise water, and plenty of space to relax. It’s exactly what you picture when you think of a Caribbean escape.
The facilities were consistently clean and very comfortable. Our room was well-maintained, the common areas were spotless, and everything felt well cared for.
If you’re looking for a relaxed adults-only getaway with incredible staff, a stunning beach, and a beautiful natural setting, this is a fantastic choice. We would absolutely return.

The staff was amazing. The rooms are good. I wish they had a dinner buffet. The hot tub by the pool was warm at best. We asked to have it turned up but temperature only increased slightly. The pool has no means of heating and the outside temperature was lower than average, so the pool was cool. Almost no one used the pool due to the temperature of the water.

We had a wonderful stay at Catalonia Royal. The location was great- between Playa del Carmen and Tulum. The hotel was spotless, staff was incredible, the spa, pool, buffets, room, grounds, and beach were all excellent.

Everything at the resort was wonderful, everything. We loved the grounds, our room, the restaurants, the beach, and most of all the staff. We are already planning a trip back.
