“Our stay at Hotel Lavas Tacotal was overall a really enjoyable experience, with a few areas that could be improved. The highlights were definitely the incredible views of Arenal Volcano — waking up to that scenery was unreal. The room itself was massive, very clean, and comfortable, which made it easy to relax after long days exploring. The pool area was also great and well-maintained, and the staff throughout the property were consistently friendly and helpful. That said, there were a couple……

“The first thing to note is the drive up to the hotel—it’s very bumpy and uneven. If you’re driving, it’s best to take it slow, and ideally use a rental car you don’t mind putting through rough terrain. During our stay, we ran into a few issues with the staff, mainly around excursions being booked incorrectly and some basic questions not being answered clearly.
