"The hotel is ideally located to enjoy the best of Buxton. It is beautifully decorated, with a real sense of luxury. Our room was spotless and the bed very comfy. Staff were helpful and polite. My only disappointment was the breakfast service and in all truth this was completely unacceptable. It was apparent that the kitchen and service was heavily understaffed, which impacted upon the cleanliness, insufficient stocks on the buffet service and delays serving food. Most people had a 45min delay for hot breakfast, and this resulted in us and a number of other guests requesting refunds. The serving staff were very apologetic and just looked worn out and embarrassed."

"Great cottage. Has everything you need from kitchen utensils to shower gel. Lovely enclosed courtyard garden for the dogs and an additional grass area infront of courtyard garden. Lovely hosts. Always there if needed but not intrusive at all. It was lovely to watch the horses being brought in in the morning and all the other animals. This cottage has definitely got the best view ive ever seen. I really didnt want to go home. Very sunny back garden"

"We had difficulty getting into the building because we didn't recognise the * on the code. We hadn't been given a room number. When I phoned the person said they were fed up with this happening. He did ring back with this. Room was fine. Toilet area very very small would not suit a larger person"

"Pet friendly stay for One night . Clean and comfortable. Didnt have dinner, breakfast very nice , lovely lady serving. Fresh milk delivered first thing in the morning a nice touch. Charge of £25 PER NIGHT for a pet I believe is excessive. £20 per stay seems the average these days . So I suppose £25 per stay would be acceptable for the quality of establishment. NOT £25 per night though !"

"We arrived early and our room was ready. The staff at reception and in the restaurant were very friendly and professional. Lee Wood is a beautiful building, with well maintained grounds, and provided free car parking. It's a short walk into Buxton town centre which helped with our 10,000 steps per day! Our room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast menu was extensive and made to order. Overall a lovely stay."
