“From the picture, the property is actually smaller, there is no bbq grill so cooking becomes a problem if you want to cook meet. The running water was turned on hours after we arrived, and no Hot water at all. Makes taking a shower on rainy days a drag. Not enough pillows or the proper kitchen utensils. And trash was not picked enough, because I was told to put it under the house when full, so wild stray dogs would tear into the bags and drag trash all over yard. They need to get lidded trash……

“The house was unexpectedly nice. We thoroughly enjoyed the cool (unheated) but not cold, jacuzzi pool after a long hot day in Manuel Antonio park. This is a nice place, but they really, really, need to let folks know that this place is very remote and the road is very bad. Great if you want to bring everything and just stay there, but it is a 45 minute drive on bad, unlit roads to come or go from the lodge. We could see several places where the hillside had given way into the road and one……

“We arrived late and got a warm welcome from the night staff. Our room, was downstairs, at the end of the building, huge, and spotlessly clean. The bathroom was a good size and split up from the bedroom by a handy dressing area. We had a balcony, our view was small, with some garden, the jungle and next to the path down to the beach (quite steep, takes 5- 10 minutes to walk down to beach , 10 minutes+ to get back). I was initially disappointed by the view, but grew to love it. We saw squirrel……

“Hotel Costa Verde did not meet our expectations; it was the most expensive place we stayed in Costa Rica and we liked it the least. The biggest problem is the hotel room walls are paper thin so we could clearly hear normal volume conversations taking place in the next room as well as lots of noise from the baby and toddler, waking us up multiple times during the night and noisy throughout the day as well. You can hear doors opening and closing very loudly in the next room, too. The hotel does……

“Property was very nice although the walking up and down the hills within the property was difficult and felt dangerous especially on the rolling surface installed. Service was great although there was a tendency to gouge for trivial services (ie salt and lime on a beer glass was an upcharge, Evian bottles of water $9 each). Bartending, waiters and golf cart drivers were definitely the saving grace. Our room A/C system was marginal. ”
