“We knowingly booked a small room. The room itself was clean and decent enough. It was an extremely hot day so could have done with A/C or at least a better fan than that provided.
The bathroom was too tiny to be practical. There was no shelf in the tiny shower and there was not enough room to bend down and pick shower gel off the floor.
Overall the price was very reasonable so we were not expecting the world. Staff were friendly, the room was clean, and the bed was comfortable.”

“Visited as we had a family funeral with the wake being held at the Bannatyne hotel. As a family we couldn’t recommend it more, we were given a room upgrade which was lovely. Breakfast was excellent with great choice for everyone. Would definitely stay again.”

“A lovely setting unfortunately full of golfers but as it's a golf club it is to be expected 😀
We had a car accident the day before we were due to leave and the lovely receptionist Anna was so helpful with giving us a free extended checkout time. The room was lovely, I wasn't overly overwhelmed by the menus available but the breakfast choices were excellent. All in all we had a lovely time and I would definitely recommend Dale Hill”

“My fiancée and I stayed at The Alfriston during the last weekend of half-term. The welcome was pleasant, and we appreciated the complimentary glass of wine.
Unfortunately, almost every part of the stay had issues. Our room was small, overlooking the spa pool, with fairly standard amenities.
Dinner was disappointing. The sole server was friendly but repeatedly forgot our order. Drinks took 20–30 minutes to arrive, the rosé was served warm despite which is quite bad when it costs £12–15 a glass.……

“Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was very clean and as described. SPA facilities including our messages were lovely. The only thing that prevented us from scoring the hotel as good was our experience for dinner at the Hunnington Restaurant, where we had a reservation for dinner. With temperatures in the mid 30's Celsius, we were surprised to find the restaurant had zero air conditioning, meaning the room was like a furnace. On top of this the staff had opened the outside doors to……
