“Title: Returned for Our Anniversary — Left Extremely Disappointed We stayed at Riu Palace Pacifico twice — first for my husband’s birthday in November, then again for our wedding anniversary after booking 6 months in advance. Both experiences were disappointing. For my husband’s birthday, despite informing the hotel ahead of time, we were given a room overlooking a construction site and the only “gesture” was a tiny slice of cake in the room. We decided to give the resort another chance……

When I arrived early for check-in with an elderly lady and my family, they didn't offer us the option of using the room to rest, which is included in the hotel's policies and benefits, and I had to wait in the lobby. In my room, the dining table was never cleaned during my five-day stay, and in the pool and restaurant area, when it comes to……

“Todo bien, solo les falta poner orden en el área de alberca y playa, la gente aparta los camastros por 24 horas y si no alcanzaste camastro en playa o alberca no tienes prácticamente donde sentarte, y nadie los quita, entonces tienes un montón de camastros sin gente con pertenencias de huéspedes que solo se paran ahi esporádicamente.”

“To start with, when booking this stay we were not aware that this room was actually located at Villa La Estancia. Why was this called Beachside Escape? The room was nice but the balcony was shared with the larger unit next door. We were not aware of this and felt awkward using this space. We also felt that it could be a security risk. We noticed a lot of the balconies had partitions up for these reasons. We had a mini fridge, coffee maker but could not plug in the coffee maker as the cord was……

“1. We were forced to attend a breakfast talk, which required us to bring VISA cards and IDs 2. No VIP access or upgrade 3. Servers cannot speak English fluently”
