I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. The staff spoke excellent English, and breakfast was amazing. But you have to be prepared to Uber everywhere because the roads aren’t exactly walkable. There are some good food options around - especially Box Burger.

Amazing property, friendly staff and great amenities! Would definitely recommend for someone looking for a Japanese-style hotel near Mount Fuji
Amazing service. Facilities are beautiful. Kid friendly. Dinner and breakfast was amazing. Beautiful presentation and taste. Wish we could have stayed an extra night.
I didn’t expect we had to pay additional for the use of the thermal rooms & book sessions. Check in process was a bit long. And having to make reservations for dinner & the shuttles was a bit inconvenient as the location was a bit far from the town/convenience stores. Otherwise breakfast was lovely. Staff friendly. Property was very clean & sophisticated. Made good use of private Onsen. Was a relaxing time.
The hotel was one of the best accommodations we’ve stayed at during our visit to Japan. The staff were so friendly and helpful, from bringing in our luggage, making our futons, helping us look for a misplaced item and farewelling us from the hotel doors. The amenities were great, loved the outdoor Onsen and the drinks that were available at the counter. Highly recommend this place whether you travel with friends or loved ones. The breakfast at the restaurant was also great too, providing a selection of local produce and the servers were very attentive. 5/5 would definitely stay here again.
The hotel is beautiful nestled up in the mountains. The grounds are beautiful but unfortunately we did not get to explore much due to the rain. The staff were helpful especially after we left behind one of our luggages and they were able send it to our next destination. It’s quiet and a wonderful place to relax. The onsen and warm pool were clean and well maintained. I cannot comment on the restaurant for dinner as we never tried it. Overall a wonderful stay.
A beautiful hotel with staff that make you feel special from the moment you arrive. The rooms are very spacious and the onsen on our balcony was soooo relaxing! We are vegan so the hotel made a special effort to prepare us something for breakfast, which we ate overlooking the beautiful gardens. It was delicious and we are so grateful for this. Lots of nice drinks to help yourself to in the lobby too.
The rooms are beautiful and very comfortable. There were noisy guests in the room above (sounded like they were stamping around a lot), and a large noisy group with young children down the corridor - who we could hear in our room. This wasn’t the fault of the hotel however. I just wouldn’t expect this at a spa hotel where people go to relax. Luckily the noise didn’t continue into the night so we still slept very well.
All in all a lovely stay and we’d definitely return.
This place is definitely a retreat. We had a nice stay. The staff was really nice. The facilities were clean. Be advised for the public onset this is not a tattoos friendly onsen, they do have guest rooms available with private deck tubs.
You will need to eat on property (make reservations) if you are not driving. There are no food spots in walking distance in the hills. You can rent electric assisted bikes until 5pm (I think) but it’s still a trek back up. We included breakfast with our stay. I’d skip wine in the lobby as it’s one coin for a taster.
You need to get off at Gora station for the shuttle to the hotel! Not to be confused with the last station on the romance car if you book the romance car for train.
Over all we have great relaxing stay.
The hotel is perfect, we loved it!!! The only thing we didn’t like was the breakfast that was very weird and the fact that there was nothing to eat around the hotel, only very bad and expensive restaurants
Pros: beautiful grounds and rooms. Hot spring inside your room was a plus, the heated pool was amazing. Free shuttle to nearby station
Cons: far from everything so buy all the food and things you need before going to the hotel.
I will start off by saying this was my favorite hotel of my trip and all of them were great actually. When I arrived I was a bit disappointed as I had wanted to sight see, I could tell that was not an option ( it might be if you plan or understand more about Japan then me) and I probably should have researched more, but I'm glad I did not because this was my families favorite Japan experience. I'm glad I was forced to take a break and just enjoy Japan! The hotel is amazing. The staff is wonderful. I could not have been happier. I needed to relax and unwind, and I was really sore from walking almost running around in 100 degree weather, the spa and bath waters fixed me right up! The breakfast was best we had in Japan and one of the best I've had in a lot of my traveling. This was a special place for me.
Lack of customer care and terrible guest relations
Terrible customer support weighted down what should have been one of the highlight stays of our honeymoon. For the cost of a stay, you expect at least decent service and a responsive team. Instead, you get excuses and inability to solve problems effectively.
The front desk and customer support team did not read any of our emails. We contacted on multiple occasions starting in August regarding booking dinner and shuttle bus and were all ignored. It doesn't matter if it's a technical issue or not, we're in 2024 if you're unable to respond to emails, don't offer that option. I had to spend 20 euros on international phone calls the hotel as they ignored 2x my messages via hotels.com and 1x via their own website. Not last minute messages either, the last attempt I had was 2 days before our booking. When the line cut out because my 20 euros of phone credit ended no one called me back. Exactly when I was confirming a 7:45pm dinner reservation. After I added extra money to my sim and call AGAIN they then said the restaurant was full. You could have either said it immediately or call me back when the line cut to tell me. Not to mention the fact that if they would not ignore my contacts, we would certainly be able to have a table.
Unfortunately there's more to the review, but characters are limited. Extended review on Google.
Great hotel amenities, amateur customer support. Incorrectly charged at checkout even, rectified but just shows the lack of attention and care to the guests.
The same breakfast at two days in a row. Considering the amount I paid for, the breakfast was poor.
I wish one dinner with Japanese styles and the other with Western style. Two dinners in Western styles were not so much excited.
