“Excellent, freshly cooked breakfast. Well-stocked bar inhabited by friendly locals.”

“The property is tired. Some of the staff worked hard. Some were obviously inexperienced. But the big problem was there were not enough capable staff. Long waiting times for food. Ordering systems that failed. Simple things like getting your own coffee at breakfast did not work. Altogether a lack of energy and commitment to getting things right was missing. No obvious management. Fabulous views, great weather. Frustrating hotel. We stayed one night. Could not imagine staying longer. What a lost……

“Such a wonderful property, and the rooms are so very clean and comfortable. We slept so well, and were treated quite nicely. Kate is such a lovely host, and her brekkie is top-notch. We enjoyed chatting with her as we ate, and found her delightful and helpful. The farm setting is so peaceful (for us guest that is, a lot of hard work for owners), and the location is great for visiting the Lizard and other places around south Cornwall. “The room was clean and the staff were very helpful. We stayed in the disabled access room which was very good. The only thing we would say is the the toilet is very low for a disabled person, even with the grab bars. ”

“The Old Post House was exactly as we had envisaged. Full of character, perfectly positioned over the harbour and very comfortable. Shelley helpfully gave us all the information we needed and left us to it. Parking would have been a challenge had we not been the only ones staying, but there was room in the village. In high season it could be an issue, given the small size of the place. A great place to stay and highly recommended.”

“The room was very clean and had been newly refurbished. We were a bit concerned that there were no contact details about what do in an emergency with no-one living on the premises. We only realised this on the last morning so couldn’t mention it to staff. I would normally speak to someone directly rather than on a public forum”

“Harvey Lodge is a hiden gem in a woodlands next to a river beautiful setting peace full beats any Premier Inn owners are friendly and helpful and they care about their guests bed is very comfy you just don't to get out of it in a morning if you care about a digital detox and peace of mind this is a place it's very near Helston town and close to Porthleven and other seaside places just beautiful felt like I was at home and not a holiday or working away from home ”

“We enjoyed this because very quiet and has everything you need. Outside area, pub, dining and excellent staff. The room was clean and appealing”

“The property was very well maintained and equipped. Beautifully decorated and lovely enclosed outdoor area for our dog to play. The only downside was that the water flow was pretty inconsistent and it was very hot weather so a bigger fan would’ve been great as it gets very hot. Other than that, it was a lovely stay.”

“Jaw dropping setting, tired building, so so room. Crippling understaffing at breakfast time leaves many customers waiting 10 minutes for coffee and over 39 minutes for breakfast. If you are short of staff, consider offering continental only option. Fast, easy.”
