“Great place, a little off the main road but first class!”

“👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎My experience at this hotel was extremely disappointing. The room was outdated, poorly designed, unclean, and had an unbearable odor. I stayed for just one night and checked out the next morning. However, right after returning my room key and getting into my car to leave, a male staff member suddenly knocked on my window and arrogantly asked if I still had a room. I told him I stayed there last night but had already checked out. He rudely demanded that I leave immediately. This……

“Most stays we have had at Holiday Inn Express have been great and actually Very little complaints. rooms always clean, great breakfast, pool etc. However, the Lake Placid Holiday Inn Express was FANTASTIC from Paula at the desk when we arrived right to the room staff. Room, (Tub) (very important) was spotless. I asked the evening desk clerk if he knew when the local ice cream parlor closed. “Stayed for 4 nights and my room was never serviced. I got new towels once after I asked for them. Pool was dirty and wasn’t cleaned or serviced the whole time I was there. The front desk older blonde/ white haired lady with the frizzy hair who checked me in was so rude. She gave me zero details about my room or the hotel. I had called a day ahead about late check in, but when I got there she tried to tell me that she couldn’t do it. EVEN THO I ALREADY PAID FOR THE NIGHT BEFORE. After I corrected……

“Staffs are all very friendly & helpful. Room is very clean and comfortable. Very quiet place. Complementary breakfast is good enough to me - I stayed two days and they did offer some different choices, not many though. No refrigerator in room which is not convenient, but with ice machine at each floor so I'm okay with that eventually. Restaurant, convenient stores are nearby. Overall this is a nice place to stay. “The property is maintained with attention to detail from every aspect of a historical hotel. We liked the personalized welcome card and the homemade soap and loofah. The location is fantastic and the pub below added to our stay. My wife had a bad knee and not having the elevator was about the only negative, however I’m certain it will be ready next time we visit. Great job and meeting Joey was like a family member making sure our stay was pleasant.”

“This was our second stay at this property and once again we enjoyed our time. The 2-room suite was beautiful and comfortable, the scene of the lake relaxing. The included breakfast selections were great and the food was tasty. They told us that they're currently doing renovations (5/20/26), but honestly we could not see any signs as they kept everything nice and clean. We look forward to seeing what the renovations bring because in our opinion the property is already lovely.”

“Room was way too hot and ac didn't work to cool down after 1/2 hr. No answer at front desk for 20 min. Didn't answer phone either. Notified Expedia and they couldn't reach property manager either. Had to leave and book another room. Waste of time! Don't book a room here. Was surprised it was even listed on Expedia.”
