This was a lovely place! The woman managing the front office was adorable and couldn't have been nicer. The pillows were exceptional and the rooms were clearly recently renovated, and felt modern.

This property was cleaner and nicer than most premium hotels twice or three-times the price! The service at the front desk was very polite and guided me to my room when I checked in. Once I got into my room, I was floored at how nice, clean, and modern the room felt! The interior did not match the classic exterior, so don't judge the book by it's cover! I would recommend for anyone staying in the area on Long Island.

No pool was available however the property is well kept. Betty the front desk manager is excellent she makes sure the room and suites are maintained to the fullest. She does an excellent job and I have no complaints.

There was no pool available at this property. However property is well maintained and I have no complaints overall my experience at the property was very good and would definitely stay again. Betty the property manager very friendly and ensures her guest are satisfied with the suites she has available.

When you first pull up to the Whitman you might think, "uh-oh" because the exterior and the reception lobby leave a lot to be desired BUT don't let that fool you, this is an excellent and fairly inexpensive motel/hotel for 1 or 2 nights. The reviews are accurate. The rooms have all been redone to a high standard - (I've stayed at 4 star hotels that were not as nice). The bed was excellent and comfy. The room was small but totally adequate and very clean. The AC worked well. There is plenty of free parking. There is an excellent diner just 8 minutes down the road-the Dix Hills Diner. The bathroom had been completely overhauled and it was very stylish - the shower was excellent with plenty of hot water. There was a generous fridge that worked really well and a large screen TV. All in all I would recommend this place to anyone seeking a 1 or 2 night stay. If you're visiting friends or family, as we were, the place is perfect. If the rooms were larger you could stay longer but the rooms are basically "motel size" - big enough but not generous.

Check in was fast, the room was very nice, it looked like it was renovated not too long ago, it was very clean, with a microwave and rather large refrigerator/freezer, the heater/air conditioner worked very well, plenty of places to eat nearby and reasonably priced. Would stay again.
