“We stayed one night at the inn and it honestly was a spontaneous decision that we do not regret. The view was stunning and the room was well kept. Everything was functioning and it just genuinely exceeded my expectations. We stayed during a chilly time but the room's AC also acts like a heater and it kept us warm and toasty. My only hesitance of giving it a five star rating is that I could feel the carpets on my feet. What I mean by that is it did not feel as clean as I would have preferred……

“Old tired place. Breakfast on par with 7-11. No cappuccino. Industrial coffee. HVAC system from decades ago and noisy. I would not repeat unless it was the last room available. The only plusses ”

“Love everything! From the beautiful retro room to the heated floors in the bay to the comfy bed. We love the decor and we need some relaxing time. Wife and I wish it was warmer to see the property and water views but it was cold! Maybe we come back in the summer ”

“It is an older property but well maintained, rooms were clean and comfortable. Great nightly rate. Has a hot tub and pool, unfortunately the hot tub was not working but the pool was next. Hope hot tub is running for our next visit. Easy to get to and close to everything.”

“I could connect to the Hotel's WIFI, but the WIFI connection to the internet was terrible. OK to read email. but not good enough to do any real work from my room. Also, as a pet friendly Hotel there should be a dog walk area.”

“This was my second time staying at the Sailmakers House and I will definitely continue to come back on all my visits to Portsmouth! The building and rooms are clean, cozy and quiet. The location is absolutely perfect for enjoying everything downtown Portsmouth has to offer, food, shopping, and sightseeing. 10/10 would recommend!”
