"We had breakfast and dinner at the restaurant attached. Dinner was delicious and catered well to our vegetarian diet. Breakfast was adequate too. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Parking was convenient. Stayed with my husband and 2 kids, would stay again!"

"Overall, we had a good stay at The Garrison and most aspects of the hotel were positive. The location is excellent for exploring Fort William, and the main facilities were clean and well presented. Apart from parking, everything else met expectations and the staff were generally helpful. However, there were a few downsides. The single sofa bed was very uncomfortable and not suitable for a good night’s sleep. Also, there was ongoing construction work which started quite early around 8am — this was a bit disruptive, especially if you had the window open as some dust could come into the room. Another small inconvenience was the access to reception. Having to go through multiple doors made it feel less straightforward than it should be, especially when arriving with luggage. Overall, a decent stay with a few areas that could be improved to make the experience much better."

"We had a really enjoyable stay at Base Camp Nevis and would definitely recommend it. The location is fantastic, especially if you’re exploring Fort William and the surrounding Highlands. It’s perfectly placed for visiting Ben Nevis and nearby attractions, while still feeling peaceful and relaxed. The accommodation was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. It had everything we needed for a short stay, and the overall atmosphere was welcoming and easygoing. One of the highlights was how convenient it was for starting our daily trips — whether heading to Glenfinnan, Skye, or just enjoying the local scenery. It made our travel plans very smooth. Overall, a great base for exploring the Highlands. Good value, great location, and a pleasant stay 👍"

"Clean room , welcoming staff. Breakfast was good. As for parking - small,tiny place so it's best to advice to park at the free car park past Asda Fuel station as I got stuck on the uphill whilst trying to get out of the hotel carpark as it was full. Maybe a sign "car park full" wouldn't go amiss."

"Original room mis-sold as a king bed, when it was a double. Moved to a king room which housed a loud unit containing heating pipes. Some staff were more helpful than others. Bed was reasonably comfortable. Breakfast was lack lustre for the equivalent cost however the coffee was nice. Hot water in the room got scalding hot "

"Second time I’ve used this hotel in a year when visiting FW. Staff are always helpful friendly and chatty. Was able to leave luggage there ahead of check in each time as I arrived early morning on sleeper train each time. Rooms and en-suites are well presented, clean and comfortable. Only marked down in one score as hotel looks a bit grotty on exterior. "
