"Lovely, homely hotel just outside the town centre. Easy parking, lovely room and comfortable king bed. We booked the room with breakfast which was good value. Our room was on the second floor, which I didn’t see in the room description. The stairs are quite narrow on the tread, and steep, so if this is an issue check room location before confirming. Otherwise, an excellent place for a New Forest stay."

The Crown Manor House Hotel

"We had a good stay in a deluxe King Room. There was no a/c or fridge in the room which on such a hot day and night was very much missed. The last time we stayed (some decades ago) the breakfast was freshly cooked to order. Now it is a buffet affair which can never be as good. That said - the quality of the buffet was one of the best we have had. The service at breakfast was also very good. The bacon sausages and eggs were of a high quality.............the coffee however was dreadful..........very bitter. The fresh juices were at room temperature - which on a hot summers day is far from ideal. I don't want ice placed in my fruit juice - but there must be solutions to serving tepid juices that don't involve putting ice in them. Overall, we had a good stay and would definitely consider staying here again. We learnt that some rooms do have a/c so would seek them out in future."

"Room was clean, friendly staff, breakfast was fine but expensive, plenty parking space. Nice quiet location. Close to forest and City. The hotel is an older building and a bit worn around the edges but it was fine for the two nights we were there, and a reasonable price compared to hotels in the area. A nice garden area."

"Lovely room - very welcoming having soothing music playing on the radio as we first went into the room. Staff all friendly and efficient - special shout out for Tanya on reception. Beautiful grounds with many tables, chairs, loungers, large parasols etc. Dinner menu very restrictive and food not a lot better than ordinary. Shame"

"Friendly staff in a hotel/pub on the High St with free parking at the back. Our room was spacious and clean. It was very warm so two quiet fans were provided. Bathroom was large and modern with lots of hot water. You might need to know the kitchen closes at 9.15 in the evening (we missed it!) and the staircases are quite narrow and steep if you have any mobility problems. Fresh-cooked breakfast was excellent with really good filter coffee. Ponies just across the road in the morning - we had a lovely stay. Thank-you."

"Room had a standing rotating fan which was useful. It had an electric fire which was modern. The headboard was wonky and had hairs on edge of bed near headboard. There were quite a few things that needed minor repairs e.g loose plug, paint mark on floor in bathroom, holes filled in bedroom wall near floor but not repainted, Hinge broken in wardrobe. Comfortable bed. Good free parking with enough spaces. Good location within 10 minutes walk to Lyndhurst. Across the road is park with ponies. On quite a noisy road with traffic at peak times."

"The rooms were so hot couldn’t be helped in this heat but couldn’t sleep art all , gave us a fan but it wasn’t much good , breakfast was ok but on the first morning run out of orange juice and coffee machine wasn’t working that well . On the Saturday there was a wedding party music was loud into the night nobody told us in advance"

"10 of us (Three generations with an age range 2 to 70) stayed for 2 nights to celebrate a family birthday. Instructions to get the keys and open the gate were very clear and even included a helpful video. We asked a few questions about the house before we went and always had an answer within 24 hours or less. Very helpful.We found it very clean and tidy. Towels and a fan in every bedroom. Also a welcome pack waiting for us with various snacks.Great location in the middle of the New Forest. A pub across the road and Lyndhurst High Street a 5 minute walk away."

"lovely stay in this dog friendly hotel. Room was clean and comfortable, although the bathroom with shower in bath arrangements slightly dated. Breakfast was more than adequate and included a sausage for the dog. Staff were all very helpful and sourced extra fans on request for the hottest days in June."
