“It was our first visit to Sonolux. A lovely boutique property but this was a case of style over substance. The check-in process was muddled by the use of automation. We had to wait for a staff member to ok us for check-in at the iPad kiosks. The whole process took 25 min. Once we were told that the system had the room ready, the kiosk would not acknowledge our reservation. I tried 10 times. I then had to wait for the 1 staff member to finish another service call before having him deal with the……

“Great location in the middle of old town - could walk to lots of coffee shops, and old port. Room was nice - clean, comfortable bed and lots of natural light. The elevator to get to the room never worked for us though.”

“Bad start of experience. The property doesn't have a front desk. Usually it's not an issue but since we arrived to the property at 1am, we had to help ourselves to the building (not a real hotel but more of an apartment/condo building) — two doors with different code systems prevent unauthorized people from walking in. From a security standpoint is great, however, the second door didn't work for us, the property's staff was not available for either us (the guests) or even Expedia Support. We had……

“We got room 105 that was warned to be noisy at night. To be honest, it wasn’t that loud and the air conditioning noise drowned it out, so sleeping through the night wasn’t a problem at all. Room also provided umbrellas which was a life saver cus it was pouring one of the days. Staff was also friendly and helpful on where to store our luggage for after check in”

“We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The hotel is centrally located in old Montreal, is a beautiful property. The staff is friendly and very accommodating. Housekeeping was thorough and incredibly prompt. The room was spacious, clean and the bed was very comfortable. The rooftop bar had great cocktails, and food and nice views of the river. And there are also two other very good restaurants on the property, Pincette in particular.”

“I will start with starting this was a very pricey stay but the place was excellent! The description was accurate and the unit was very clean. We appreciated the laundry for our longer stay. If anything could change it would be that we wished it had a dish cloth & soap so we could hand wash a few quick dishes. I will also say that the location was amazing for walking old Montreal. Overall a great place to stay.”
