“Beautiful property, plenty of room, wonderful amenities. A place you can go to unplug and spend quality time with loved ones. The owners were friendly, and willing to help with anything we needed. We had an amazing time and wished we could stay longer, my kids didn't want to leave. I 100% recommend and we will be booking again.”

“It was a bit too close to a main road so road noise could be heard, particularly when sitting on the porch. There is no handrail up to the bedroom and the steps are rather steep and dark...not a good set up for older patrons or those with mobility issues. Other than that, it was clean and comfortable and a nice area to easily walk the dogs outside. The setting is very pretty on a river and canoes and kayaks are available to use.”

“The cabin is literally right at a lake. In the morning we saw an otter and a pair of loons. I went up there to have a birthday weekend escape and to see the total eclipse. We had a wonderful time.”

“This camp was great. The screened in porch had an amazing view of the pond. If it had been a touch warmer we would have had our dinners out on porch. But it was lovely to sit out on and watch the ducks. The kitchen had everything needed and more! Lots of dinnerware, cookware, and utensils. The property owner was very helpful. Lots of good information about the camp and area. She gave us some time to get our stuff in and get settled a bit before she visited. The location was just the right amount……

“We booked this property for 3 nights/days but stayed one night. The camp was clean, well stocked with essentials and fairly easy to find when using our vehicle's navigation system. My youngest enjoyed using a kayak for the night we were there, and the swimming area was nice. I always read reviews before I book a vacation on VRBO. Please do not underestimate the parking spaces. I assumed with our 3 smaller vehicles we could fit in the 3 allotted places but the 2 we came with the first day were……

“Overall the trip was great the house was not bad, But the driveway is very rough on low riding vehicles. I also found it weird that during my stay the owner message to me to let me know he would be dropping off a snow plow at the house that day. I know it's their property and all it just felt weird as I paid thousands of dollars to be there.”

“This rustic cabin is beautiful and comfortable, with gorgeous views of the lake. It has everything you need, right down to salt and pepper, travel-size soap / shampoo etc. Lots of games and books, plus good Wifi and tv (including over the air tv and Hulu access if you have a subscription). We loved the fireplace inside and the firepit outside (you need to provide your own wood but it's for sale at multiple places nearby). It's so quiet, it feels like you're in the middle of nowhere! But Otis……

“Beautiful spot on the lake, very private. Stayed with family to view the solar eclipse and it was perfect. Plenty of room - and fully stocked kitchen (pots, pans, spices, etc.) and bathroom to make it easy to just arrive (best to arrive with groceries though - it takes awhile to get back to any shops!). Bald eagles (and a golden eagle sighting) were quite a bonus.”

“This hidden gem is the perfect place to unwind and relax. Right on the lake and minutes from great hiking, this place is hard to beat! Secluded yet close enough to Lincoln and Millinocket in case you need supplies or want to sample local food and beer. The water was still a bit cold so we didn't take advantage of the kayaks but would have loved to. We will surely be back another time!!”

“The house has a cozy cabin feel. Towels (bath and beach!), life vests, canoes, trash bags and other basic kitchen supplies were there! Everything was clean and comfortable. The dock wasn’t out but it was still early in the season. Nice small beach (would still recommend water shoes) and fun fishing! Quiet pond with lots of wildlife. Dollar General in one direction if you need anything, and a gas station/pizza/ice cream pls e in the other direction for all other supplies. Only 45 minutes from……

“Our family stayed during the 2024 Eclipse, and we enjoyed an amazing experience in a beautiful location! Pros: excellent location right on the lake, well-stocked kitchen with relatively sharp knives (unusual for a rental!), great communication with the local agent, easy check-in and check-out. It was actually a bigger space than it looked like in the photos online. Cons: The plumbing is a little funky - the sink and downstairs toilet gurgles when you flush the upstairs toilet. The downstairs……

“My husband dog and I, very much enjoyed the camp. So peaceful. We ended up getting up there later than planned. John waited for us. He was so kind and helpful. My car ended up having issues and needed to be fixed. I texted John. He sent me to a garage in Lincoln. They were so nice. The lake is clean and clear. So beautiful. I enjoyed fishing while my husband relaxed in the lake. John also told us about some good fishing and walking places. The camp has all you need for cooking and eating.……

“We traveled up to Maine for my daughter’s graduation from UMO. Spent the weekend on Chemo Pond in a beautiful cottage with an amazing view! Communication with the owner was simple, the cottage was very clean and well stocked with most essentials, the location was easy to get to and it was so nice and quiet. We had a fabulous weekend celebrating my daughter. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us! We hope to be back during warmer weather so that we can enjoy the lake!”

“What a wonderful home! Perhaps the best thing about this home is something that I never considered when renting. This home has a generator. When a nasty storm came through, we lost power for three days. Normally, the trip would have been ruined. However, when the lights went out, the house generator switched on without skipping a beat. Seconds later, the property manager called to see if everyone was ok. Great customer service! Great home! Thank you for spending the extra money to make sure that……

“This little house is beyond cozy. It’s comfortable, well equipped, warm, and just as cute as it can be. We stayed for one night so we could attend commencement at University of Maine, but I’ll admit I didn’t want to leave. If I’m ever back in the Orono/Old Town area, this is my first choice. The only negative was that I had to leave.”
