Absolutely not worth it. The property is old and not well maintained. We were one of few families that got duped by this high rating on here and thought that this is going to be an excellent place to have vacation with kids but it turned out the opposite. Food is mediocre to okay for breakfast and lunch, then better for dinner. Something as basic as getting a proper espresso drink though was impossible. We’ve stayed at St Regis Kanai before this stay and it was absolutely stunning - so going into our room at Grand Velas was a disappointment on many levels. Scum in the private pool, waiters that forget your order , terrible coffee, outdated rooms. Oh and with kids you get much less choice on restaurants - basically we had on for breakfast and lunch and two for dinner, everything else was closed or not available with kids.

Outstanding food, friendly staff, well maintained and a beautiful location. Only minus is that the property's beach doesn't have that crystal clear blue water due to the seaweed. But you can leave on snorkeling outings or rent jet skis. The multiple pools and restaurants were so nice that it didn't matter. We would go back again. Traveled with a 4 year old and 15 month old. And they had a great time.

We enjoyed our stay overall and appreciated the hospitality. However, we felt that the property could benefit from some structural maintenance and upkeep in certain areas. Additionally, while the food was satisfactory, it did not quite meet our expectations in terms of taste and quality in comparison to the Cabo location. I hope this feedback is helpful and contributes to further improvements for future guests.

Aaron and Guillermo were always very attentive to our needs and went above and beyond to assist us. They helped us arrange special meals for our daughter, who has dietary restrictions, making our stay much more comfortable and enjoyable. I can't remember the names of the housekeeping, room service, and in-suite snack staff, but their service was also top-notch. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and professional throughout our stay.

La habitación limpia y muy amplia, el spa para niños con una atención de lujo muchos detalles para lo pequeñitos y un ambiente súper familiar, la experiencia culinaria de los restaurantes es de otro nivel TOP TOP. Mi única sugerencia sería una mejor comunicación por parte de la concierges, sobre todo la del turno AM, ya que tuvimos temas con las reservas y actividades. También podrían mejorar los tiempos de atención el servicio de bebidas.
