This property is only a few short steps to 5th ave. And a BLOCK from an OXXO. The hotel has an artistic feel with artwork from local artist that are available for sale. A massive water fall in the lobby. The lobby is an open air lobby. So no air conditioning. Which is why they received a 4 instead of a 5. My patents are older and they are visiting and the heat is hard on them. While waiting in the lobby with no air conditioning. It was a bit hard for them. The rooms are clean and spacious, hotel is close to food, shopping and the beach. Will be back for sure.

I had an amazing stay at SOHO. The staff is so hardworking and friendly. The manager is always trying to make the stay enjoyable. She is an incredible manager. The rooms are spacious. The air conditioner was quiet and cooled the room nicely. The hotel is close to the beach and shopping area.

You can tell back in the days it's was a great Hotel but besides the staffing been nice and attentive. I won't actually atay that hotel again. You got be aware the have very limited to none parking and outside the local police are looking to give you a parking ticket (and none give you coins for your bills). One night we didn't have water. And I believe that place is overrated on the price of you compared to any Airbnb nearby.

The property was in a great location. The property was not represented accurately on the Expedia website. There is no bar on the roof open (although the pool is very nice), nor was there yoga every morning. Breakfast was just fine but doesn't open until 9. 3 of the days we were there we couldn’t take advantage of the free breakfast because we had to leave before food was available. Rooms were clean and pleasant.

My wife and daughters had stayed here 6 years ago and wanted to return. That was a mistake. The good: - Convenient location - Good water pressure - Nice artwork in the lobby The meh: - Nothing but Spanish channels on TV and no way to connect our phones to stream to the TV when we were unwinding from the day. The bad: - A/C was horrible. When we got to the room, the A/C was off. We turned it on but the room did not cool down. It was several hours until we realized the patio doors were open. We got the doors closed but we were miserable all night. The next day we asked if they could fix the A/C. They said they would but nothing got better. To make it worse, housekeeping turned off the A/C while we were gone for the day and the room was blazing hot all night again. We finally had to hide the A/C remote from hotel staff so it would stay on during the day. This helped keep it cool enough to sleep better but still not ideal. - Hotel staff seemed disinterested.

Superior Location and Outstanding front desk service with easy check-in. Classy and Chic. Perfectly situated to be 100 steps from 5th Ave yet unbelievably quiet in our room. The Best Sleep I've had in a month of staying in different hotels during our travels. Spacious room with a refrigerator and a complimentary bottle of wine. Fast elevators and underground parking were a bonus. The rooftop pool and lounging area was perfect with cool views, quiet and relaxing. We travel to Playa DC often and this will, no doubt, be our new "Go-To" hotel. If you've clicked on this, you're done looking. Reserve! You will not be disappointed!

The evening front desk was extremely helpful in having maintenance change out the shower head (which was raining water on the bathroom floor causing to cover the floor with water), getting me wash cloth and small towel which were not there when I arrived, and was all around friendly. I thank him for his quick and professional service. :)

I gave it 2 stars cause I feel bad for the staff. They are doing what they can. The pictures are not accurate. The “waterfall fountain is not working” the rooms are musty smelling. You get 1 rough towel per person- no hand towels, washcloths. A sheet on the bed. No blankets, nothing extra( I had to buy a blanket for myself from a store) toilet seat flopping around. No restaurant or bar as advertised. Pool cold, hot tub out of order. We were right under the rooftop deck that they have some type of dance club with seriously loud music till 1 am (I asked the desk and they said it was to go till 1 am.) we got stuck in the elevator and they acted like it happens all the time, No big deal to them. Breakfast is 2 pieces of toast a small cup of fruit and 1 cup of coffee or tea which my husband does not drink so we had to buy a bottle of water for him. They don’t open till 830ish so we only got the “breakfast” once which was plenty. It seriously felt like a comedy show and I wasn’t laughing. There were others in our group. 1 had no air at all and they couldn’t move her till the last day. There was another couple we saw locked out of their room for 3 hours and there was no one to fix the door. I guess if you don’t go with a big chain this is what you get but it’s definitely false advertising.

Hotel location is ideal to explore Playa's ever growing areas. We stayed in the Master Suite - room size is excellent and the external Hot Tub a nice area to relax. We noted it was a special celebration and the staff did a great job on decorating the room for our special event. Initially, breakfast offer (continental) was very poor (as commented by others) - but on discussion with the Manager we agreed an upgrade - this was great and very healthy (served in Green & Fit) Hotel amenities are quite poor - Sky Bar should be renamed to Sky Terrace - as there is no Bar services and the whole upper deck area is falling into dis-repair and an underutilised space for the hotel. Pool appears to be maintained - but due to lack of facilities and particularly the poor state of the toilet/changing areas not used. Room amenities are very basic and limited to 2 coffees per day, 1 bottle of wine on arrival (for 2 persons this was not a luxury offering) - no other refreshments, or water given. Room service every other day. Cleaning staff are great and did a good job on the room, but public areas – particularly the toilets are not maintained. Front desk staff are disconnected from the guests and only respond when asked/ prompted for action. Overall, the hotel could be an excellent base in Playa, but without investment in the amenities – there offering of a bed & limited breakfast will cause them to decline further.
