Host was very accommodating when we had a lot of traffic preventing us from getting there at the time we stated. Breakfast was wonderful and all in all, a very nice stay. “I run a hospitality business, so I thought long and hard before leaving even the slightest negative feedback for this hotel. It still deserved a 4, but could so easily have been a 5. The location is superb, can’t fault that. Period building, really well presented, superb artwork, great décor, very French in character. There were however two points that really did take the shine off a £300 plus night stay. The first was the parking signage. The signs stated “Resident parking only”, the sort of……

“Lovely stay - the views made it so book a room with a view if you can! Staff were excellent, food was also very good. Breakfast in particular was lovely and high quality.”

“Absolutely fine, was welcomed by a thoroughly nice chap who checked us in etc. Room was up in the rafters but was nice, comfortable bed and a magnificent bathtub. Spent an hour in the bar and enjoyed that, drinks were reasonable price and it seemed to be quite full. Had to leave at 06:00 to catch ferry so didn’t eat breakfast. Only negative was the toilet seat was quite loose and I felt a little uneasy sitting on the pan, expecting it to slip off at any second. Absolute not a show-stopper……

“Good location and near train station, easy to walk to and from this hotel. The hotel is clean and quiet. The room and facilities are in good condition. Staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast is good.”

“Room was comfortable however the seagulls kept us awake every morning from 5am walking on the roof (Room5) There were a couple of examples where ingredients listed for food items on the menu were left out, proving to be a disappointment for some dishes. The gnocchi didn't have any chestnuts, The pancakes didn't have coconut yoghurt for example. More vegetarian options would have been welcomed.”
