「I loved this place. When I go to England, I enjoy these smaller, transformed hotels much more than bigger ones and Hand and Spear has been the best. The room I got was spacious with ample wardrobe space and beautiful decor. The bath was insane with a beautiful claw foot tub. I’m very self-sufficient when I travel so I don’t expect a room made up each day but I’m sure they would accommodate you and they quickly brought extra towels when I asked. The thing is…my room had food and a little fridge...

「Although front desk services was a little bit long, overall score is very good. The hotel is a historical building and maintenance was good. My room is on the same floor near the reception counter and was clean and very spacious. The green and leafy environment makes you feel very relax and enjoy. There's Supermarket 15-30 minutes walk away. You can shop at Walton by taking a 461 bus for around 10mins distances. Clarks, H&M...,,, not so big but worth to visit.」

「Edwina was a welcoming host! Nothing was too much trouble! Made sure we always had what we need! Accommodating our American car! Fabulous fresh cooked breakfast! Room was lovely which was cleaned daily. The best shower pressure! Tea coffee, water and juice in the room. Great location, walking distance to Esher town centre and the Racetrack! Highly recommend Edwinas home!」

「The room I stayed in had a few issues but nothing major. The staff were very helpful. The location was good and the breakfast was excellent and the staff in the restaurant were particularly lovely.」

「Bar staff were not very helpful when checking in and left me waiting for the manager for 15 minutes and was ignoring me and non-responsive when I would ask what the delay is. Other than that the experience was fantastic, the room was lovely, the restaurant was lovely, can’t complain. Just the check in experience left a slight sour taste.」

「It was a lovely property with an interesting history. We visited in the middle of a heat wave and without any A/C and being unable to open the windows more than a few inches, the rooms were hot! A nice quiet fan was provided but it made the heat slightly less unbearable. Thank goodness for the pool! The staff were pleasant and helpful.」
