“The hotel room we were allocated was at the back of the building off a really bad smelling musty corridor which seeped into the room. The room itself, other than the smell, was good. Clean and had everything we needed. The staff were very friendly. Food in the restaurant was great. We asked for our bins to be emptied and for fresh towels which didn't happen.”

“Nice location , price and ambiance BUT I had three simple questions when I checked in. The receptionist knew the answer to none of them ( had to check ) : would there be coffee in the morning ? Answer No, not til the restaurant opened at 830 am !!!( Old COFFEE Inn ?!? ). Was the restaurant still open ( closing at 8pm ...didn't know what they were serving ). Would the 8pm World Cup match be shown ? ( Mind you there was a sign out front advertising it ). NO, they only put the TV on for England……

“Room was clean except burns in carpets. Flies in restaurant- get a big bug zapper! Staff were superb Dinner extremely tasty except charge for pods which lay empty of £45.00 for 2 hours. Breakfast was lovely Location is great but a lot of road noise all day and night from everything from motor bikes to tractors. Property has 2 windows to counter noise but still prevalent.”

“Check in could be improved. Arrived to a busy pub with customers waiting for service at the bar and no designated check in desk. Several staff just walked past us with our bags and no one acknowledged we were trying to check in for several minutes. The room was okay but not as shown on our booking confirmation - it was an attic room with very steep stairs and a not very safe landing area outside the door. The bathroom had been shoehorned in under a sloping ceiling - there was no shower, just……

“This was our 1st stay at this property,after a poor experience in contacting Expedia for help we finally found direct contact information for The Bell and Chloe could not have been more helpful.We stayed in room One which was simply beautiful,it was an extremely hot day and whilst they do not have air conditioning they provided two fans to help us. The bathroom was more than spacious and the l’occitane toiletries were an unexpected surprise. Breakfast was fabulous,with quality produce and……
