“The property is in an ideal location in Cabarete, is gorgeous, and can accommodate a wide range of rental purposes. The best part of the experience though is the kind, attentive, proactive, and all around exceptional staff. We wanted for nothing and were made to feel at home - unbeatable experience.”

“Accommodation consists of individual rooms to let in the host's own house and you share (part of) the kitchen and other shared areas including swimming pool, indoor and outdoor dining areas etc. She is lovely and sociable although doesn't speak much English (apparently her partner who does speak English normally lives there but wasn't there when we visited). It's not really walkable from town or any other facilities, so unless you intend to spend your time relaxing on-site, it would suit……

“House is very well located with views of the ocean on one side and mountain and downtown Puerto Plata on the other side. Very nice pool and outdoor space even when it rains under the large palapas. Owners and caretaker very nice and helpful all the time. Beach, taxis, mini market store, pharmacy and resto all within 5-15 walking minutes distance. And all inside Costambar secured neighborhood. Must take a cab to go down to Puerto Plata though. 5 kms and about $15US one way. We have moved……

“Es hat mir alles gut gefallen, das Hotel liegt Zentral in Cabarete man kann alles gut zu Fuß erreichen. Das Zimmer war sauber und hell alles zur vollständigen Zufriedenheit. Alle sind freundlich und zuvorkommend. Ich werde auf jeden Fall das Hotel wieder buchen. Es ist sehr zu empfehlen.”

“I would like to thank the staff member at the front desk who checked me in and did everything possible to fix my issues. First two rooms I was given the AC wasn’t working too well but they changed my room to one of the newer rooms, which worked out well. Only thing I would say is the cleaning staff needs to be more thorough, as I found a used you know what wrapper on the floor under the night stand. I want to thank the staff member at check in for doing everything possible to make sure my stay……

“It is an old hotel but the staff is friendly and everything is clean, do not have a restaurant neither a bar but everything is close nearby, it is ok price versus location”

“The property stay was good overall. The rooms could use some renovations (and I was in a supposedly renovated room). It is difficult to get reservations for ala carte restaurants if you don’t book them immediately upon arrival for the entire week. It is also difficult to get beach/pool towels. ”

“Overall a good stay with a few small issues and one BIG issue: -Those exterior furniture cushions were discolored and had mold on some spots (definately NOT same color as in the photo) -pool needs resurfaced/painted -Daily interruptions when i was ASLEEP checking on my stay (not exactly a bad thing but when you're in the middle of sleeping YES) -Biggest thing VERY LATE CHECK-IN!!! Arrived within the 2pm hour after multiple calls and frustration was able to physically enter and unpack after……

“Nuestra experiencia en Select Casa Marina fue buena. La habitación muy buena, el restaurante internacional Hermanns es excelente, la comida muy rica. Lo que sí podemos sugerir es tener un buffet separado para la parte de Select, un camarero que realice rondas constantes en la piscina infinita y jacuzzi, porque nos faltó atención en las bebidas dentro de la piscina. Y también que tengan algún maletero en el lobby principal que nos ayude con el equipaje hasta el lobby del Select, ya que tuvimos……
